Yup. Singleton's a very good value at 18, but.... we picked someone who plays the same position and has a lot of the same weaknesses at 6. They better have a trade coming is all I can say about that. Nate, I think you might be a tad overly optimistic about trading for Kanter, but I'd love to see it.

Great choice. I think Faried would have been great too

Now we have someone to lockdown LeTravel

Right now, our rotation looks like:

PG: Wall/Crawford
SG: Young/SIngleton
SF: Lewis/Vessly
PF: Blatche/Booker
C: McGee/Seraphin

That's the one negative, we definitely didn't land great shooters, but how cool is it to land a guy that had jumped into the top 10 on a lot of boards, supposedly and a guy we've all wanted. I don't know how good he'll be, but he certainly got better and better on the offensive end as his experience grew. He really seemed to get a lot better over the last 18 months.

We got the defensive player of the year. Defense was our biggest need. How can u not be happy with Singleton!! He isgoing to instantly improve us. Plus I see esely playing the 4

Now that we passed on Faried, it's time to target Jordan Williams at 34.

Vesley - Meh

But Singleton and Williams would be a pretty
good haul.

Singleton cannot play guard. He'll have trouble staying with the quicker 3's, and he doesn't have good ball-handling skills even for a 3; much less a 2.

Actually Vesley is not a standout defender at all despite being long and athletic

I would have picked Biyombo and traded McGee + 18 for Williams or Kanter. Biyombo/Kanter or Biyombo/Williams is a potential championship frontline.

I like Singleton though.

Seriously. As bad as we were on offense, our defense wasn't far behind. We sucked as completely on both ends as possible. Singleton should help by leaps and bounds on defense.

If we get Nolan Smith at 34 I'll be "ok" with the draft. If EG wisens up and gets Kanter somehow via trade even better. No need for 4 damn small forwards on the team.

I can't believe peole are bitching about Singleton at 18. You see the interview? Talked about nothing about defense. On the Wiz? I just lost my mind.

Who cares if they play the same position? Vesely can play some four and Singleton can play some 4. Neither will play a ton in their first year. You take the best player available at 18 and that's what the Wiz did. They could have got a gunner in Marshawn Brooks. And as for Kanter, I wanted him but obviously others did too. Nobody wanted the 18th pick in this draft.

Exactly, every season we bitch about having a defensive stopper...well, WE GOT HIM. LETS ROLL, LOVE THIS PICK.

I'm not bitching about Singleton. Seems like a great fit. He AND Vesley, with our current roster and its deficiencies, seems like a weird pairing is all. We're going to be really inefficient on offense for a bit.

If we get NORRIS COLE or JUSTIN HARPER @34, I'm cool with this overall draft from the Wizards. :)

How are we going to score? Oh yea, forgot about the plans for a deep run next year.

Oh well, maybe we just get some guys in here with the right mindset.
