As I've been saying, but they wouldn't go for this deal! You're asking too much for them to move up 2 spots.
At least in principle -- if there's someone they absolutely *must* have, then... maybe.

pcbothwel wrote:......And I would be willing to bypass 8 and let them jump start rebuild with them having 6 AND 8. I would need to think it through
--- 6 & 40 <=> 19, 26, 27... Plus the Philly 2028 1st

This is another trade that's heavily weighted in our favor. :)

pcbothwel wrote:Atlanta is also in a weird spot. They have Trae, Jalen, Dyson Daniels, Risacher, and Okongwu... and they need to get better now due to the swap with SAS in 2026 and their 2027 pick also going to SAS. Do they jump to 6 and pick up the last building block and make a 5-year run in a weak east?
--- 6 & 40 <=> 13 & 22... plus maybe another small asset

Cool ideas....

Man, that mock is wildly divergent from consensus.

Maluach goes 4th?
Tre and Ace fall to 6th?
Kon falls to 10th?
Wolf all the way down to 26th?

He’s not a writer/reporter, doesn’t work for the organization, it’s just a fan. (Not saying he doesn’t have connections)

OKC is notorious for being a steel trap in terms of not allowing any information to leak from the organization. This seems to be how Dawkins/Winger have operated since coming to DC.

Anything leaking out is probably because they want it to get out there. I’m guessing they would like to trade down, or try to entice a team into making an offer. These rumors center around “secret workouts” with basically every player potentially on the board at 6 -Kon, VJ, Fears, Maluach, Queen, etc..

Who were the people that leaked Sarr and Bub last year, because I feel like 95% of the board was aware Sarr was ours, and Bub was our target, but I can't remember why we all knew that?

Everyone on planet earth knew Sarr was going second, that was just the nature of the draft. No leak needed. Carrington I’m not sure.

I don't recall any indication that Bub was favored by management.

Yep, but I feel like it was always clear we preferred Sarr to Risacher, even before Sarr wouldn't work out for the Hawks....but yeah, Bub is the bigger one because the further you go on and the more disparate the variety of options and yet we always seemed rumored for Bub....

I definitely remember the rumors being that Bub was our target, and I couldn't really understand why we were so obsessed at the time. I was more enamored with Collier falling to us, or Topic in particular, I had an unhealthy interest in Dadiet for no particular reason.

I don’t recall any leaks about Bub being a target. But I did believe Bub might be the target when they traded for Portland’s pick. He was known to be moving up in the mocks.

After the draft, Chris Miller (or David Aldridge report??) released an article about Carrington doing a last minute workout&lunch with Dawkins the day before the draft. Don’t recall any pre-draft Wiz/Carrington smoke at all. The Deni trade happened hours before the draft.

Sarr was spotted at the airport in DC, presumably going to a workout/meeting with the Wiz. A picture was posted on Reddit or something. Everyone knew Sarr was pushing to go to the Wizards though.

Probably a case of my memory rewriting history after reading post draft articles? Or maybe just him floating up....no idea.....Just glad we aren't a leaking side like prior DC teams. It's frustrating to not know ahead of time, but it's also the better way to run a team.

Furthermore, I hadn't heard a damn thing about Kyshawn George. Makes me wonder how much of these "leaks" are just BS.

On one hand they're saying we're aggressively trying to move up. Then we hear they're locked in on Fears. I don't think anyone actually has a clue.

Right. After the fact reveal. Bub I recall as a ninja stealth pick. With info coming that they had him in late. His interview sealed it. They traded Deni hours later.

Not mentioned, Ace doesn't pass the ball, he could be the new Jordan Poole, but a SF.

I remember Vecenie loving Bub, then when we got the pick I was hoping Topic would drop. After the Thunder took him, as the draft was live we were talking Carrington some I think? I don’t remember any mock drafts after the trade, that would have been a really fast reaction
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Zards was on Bub minutes before we picked him. I was hoping for Ware after Topic got picked but i dont think i actually posted it. I was still reeling a bit from the Deni trade.

He actually does pass, he was just passing to guys who bricked layups, missed 3s or better yet turned down open shots to commit turnovers when they tried to dribble. It was embarassing.

This is random, but no one is calling out Harper for dogging it during the combine. Dude was acting like it was an inconvenience for him:
