Meh, this was more of a Clipper collapse than the Rockets being a true contender IMO. I fully expect GSW to destroy Houston. But hey, they made it so you can't take that away from them. I'm just not particularly impressed.

Besides, had the Wizards made it to the ECF, I doubt you would have been as generous with Ernie.

There are a few on this board who knocked Ariza. He came in for Harden the game where they were all but eliminated.

Today in game 7, he had 22 points, 7 boards, 6 made three point shots.

I am very happy for Trevor Ariza. His team plays on and he played a major role.

dang i gotta eat crow on the rockets. I thought they were DONE and I thought their gimmick wasn't going to stick, but they pulle off one of the best series come backs i've ever seen.

I hate Doc Rivers and company, so I guess I win in that regard. **** CP3s floppercopter ass.

Amazing how Morey salvaged the season after the offseason fiasco where they struck out on Bosh and then lost Chandler Parsons. Morey picks up Ariza on a good contract, grabs Josh Smith off the junk heap, and now they're in the WCF's.

I always like seeing Houston win because, even if just for a second, it shuts up the people constantly spewing their "SEE, ADVANCED STATS DON'T MEAN WINNING!!!1!1!!!" rhetoric.

But on the other hand, I don't like James Harden or Dwight Howard so it's a bit of a double-edged sword.

Conference Finals in the West > Conference Finals in the East

And lets not forget that Morey has never had a losing record with the Rockets.

So the top 2 seeds in both conferences made the conference finals. The regular season does matter no matter how hard people try to pretend otherwise. Having home court advantage in game 7 makes a big difference.

Its crazy they they have so much talent but never seem to be able to get over the hump.

They beat SAS but then lost to HOU... That hurts.

But hey. Its though to get into the Conference Finals. Specially in the West.

Kind of makes me a little sick the stomach that Harden is there. I really hate his game of arm locking and flopping. Amazing the refs still haven't adjusted to it.

He is one of those extra pieces that will never be a big name but who is a solid vet which is why I suggested we get him when we were looking for another guard.

Amazing. Dude is 38. Just 3 years in the league having arrived late after being an over seas player. And most of the time in NY so easy to get ignored.

So what did he do. Not much in the box scores. Must have been little glue things. Only 4 pts in 3 games.

Players like this float around the league all the time. You never notice them until they land in the right situation.

In the next round out west, the NBA MVP Steph Curry will primarily be guarded by 37-year old Jason Terry or 38-year old Pablo Prigioni.

The Warriors are going to have to find a way to stop a lot of mobile, tall, swing men. Smith, Jones, Brewer, and Ariza are very different from the swing men on Memphis.

Also, Howard is going to be a beast inside.

Yeah, against a lot of teams, you can hide a non-defending PG by having him guard the opposing team's 3&D wing player. That's not going to work with Golden State. You can't hide Terry or Prigioni on Thompson or Barnes. They're too big and they have post-up games to take advantage.
