President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Guessing that Marcus Carr has had the worst 2 games of his career this season against MD - though he did have a good 1st half in the previous game against MD.

If Ayala could set up his teammates, he'd be NBA worthy. Good size, strong, can defend, penetrate, finish, occasionally hits big 3's

The win over Nebraska made the first back-to-back B1G win. If they can win tomorrow, against the same team, their chances for NCAA play are improving.

They've got an easier schedule here on out.

We'll see it's been a tough year. Also still not over last year being cut short when we had such a good team.

When MD gets hot from 3, they're a nice looking team. It really comes down to Hamilton and Wiggins contributing offensively and getting hot from 3.

This is true, the first half shooting against Michigan was unreal. With Maryland basketball, I take a macro perspective. We are more or less a tier 3 school. We can put together a really good team every 3 or 4 years, but we can't handle losing elite talent early.

We just have a tier 3 coach.... :(

I agree. I’d also include Smith as needing to defend and rebound. Ayala and Scott are pretty consistent. If Wiggins can continue to attack the basket that will make Maryland much more competitive down the stretch run. Hamilton looks pure on his shot from three.

Mark Turgeon is certainly not a great coach. However, this team has defeated several great teams. They are short on talent in the middle and at point guard. I think prime is right. Losing players like Huerter, Fernando and Jalen Smith has hurt. We don’t get recruits like Kentucky, Duke, Memphis and Michigan do. That is on Turgeon, somewhat.

I’m conflicted...I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing a coaching change; but, be careful what you ask for. He’s not bad, just mediocre.

Turgeon isn't nearly the coach Gary is (few are), but he recruits really well. We lack talent this year because the twins busted so badly and transferred out.

Gary gets a pass because of the NCAA Championship team and the Final Four team.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Williams

Turgeon has pretty close regular season success

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Turgeon

Where Turgeon fails miserably is in the NCAAs. Only one Sweet 16 appearance.

After looking at the records in the NCAAs I agree. Turgeon has not done a good job. That team with Robert Carter Jr and Diamond Stone with Layman should have done much better.

Turgeon missed in recruiting big time this year.

Turgeon missed in recruiting big time this year.

He recruited 2 3 star PG's - Smart and Dockery - and neither impressed him enough to use - even though Ayala is the only other PG on the roster. That's disappointing.

The recruiting class for next season looks much better, but we shall see. James Graham got early eligibility but has not impressed at all - so far.

I only know about Julian Reese

What other recruits do they have coming in next year?

4 star recruits Ike Cornish and James Graham. I think Graham should count toward next season even though he was allowed to play in January. So no 5 star recruits. I don't follow recruiting close enough to know if they're going after anyone else. Here's a link from Terrapin Times - don't know how accurate it is. https://terrapintimes.com/basketball-recruiting/recruits
