Beal running his mouth again to Marc Spears.

Does he feel so inadequate not being selected for the All-Star game (which nobody watched) that he feels like he's got to reiterate the same bull he's said in so many other interviews? "Line in the sand" with your patience on what the team is doing to win? Lol dude should just stfu after he just got gifted a Super Max despite little in the way of winning over the past 5 years. I don't blame him for taking all the money he could get, I blame him for A) having a complete lack of self-awareness and B) putting himself above the team in the middle of the season. "Yeah dudes! About to enter the last 20 some odds games, I might be in, I might not be, but give it your all." Not a surprise, never has shown an ounce of leadership.

This is why it is impossible to root for the guy, or just another one of reasons. I was reading another board laughing hysterically about how Beal was laughing and dancing on the sidelines when we were getting our butts kicked in a game, how bad of a look it was. This continues the narrative. Acting like the comparison with Lillard or Curry is apt... bruh you have never done squat as the top dog on a team other than post inflated scoring numbers in two shortened seasons.

But I know, his TS% this season is a career high, so shhhh, don't say anything.

Please Brad, make your red line this offseason. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Beal shows loyalty and support for the franchise, his teammates and the direction of the team throughout the interview with Spears. I suggest you read the entire article…rather than jump on the 2 sentences that you feel confirm your personal feelings about Beal.

Every time I think I'm just starting to tolerate Beal, he validates why I wanted him gone from year 3. Total fraud.

He was asked like 2 questions about the Wizards, and he certainly didn't need to answer the question like that, given the past year.

Yeah he also said this in the interview
Do you ever think about your jersey one day being retired with Washington like Earl Monroe, Elvin Hayes, Gus Johnson, Wes Unseld, and Phil Chenier?

Yeah, sometimes, but those guys won. They won a championship [1978]. They brought that to the city, and that’s something I want. Obviously, I’ve done a lot in this organization. But at the same time, nothing is bigger than winning a ‘ship.

Beal apologist gonna be Beal apologist.

Doesn't matter he said some nice things about his teammate, because he knows what he's doing every time he's says crap like this. The mental gymnastics that some will go through to defend this prima donna is truly laughable. Guy gets paid $250M over 5 seasons, is not even through the first year of his brand new contract and has on multiple occasions this season chosen to make it about himself and talk about "there was money no where else" and "lines in the sand".

Give me a break. I expect more out someone with the position he is in, not to be molly coddled because he hedges with some other nice things in interviews. Be a leader, keep it in-house, show be example.

To go a step further, dude hasn't been able to stay healthy in like 5 seasons and has already missed a huge chunk of this season. Yeah, duh, it's difficult to consistently win when a guy making as much as he has over the past several season is penciled in to miss a good chunk of games every season.

Am I supposed to be impressed with his answer to his jersey being retired in a cream puff interview? Don't hold your breath. Maybe if he stopped worrying about his legacy so much, maybe toned down his on court antics that he appears to be so desperately seeking the attention of cameras, and tried to focus on the little things it takes to win, like I dunno, giving effort every night on defense, maybe, just maybe the needle would move in the right direction.

Beal seems to be living off of memories past when he first came into the league for many of you, because he's been an ego maniac despite production that doesn't even come close to warranting the inflated since of his abilities for years now.

LOL I would love for him to “get selfish”.

Paid like a franchise player, performs like an above average starter.

We have a really good chance to make the 6 seed as a legit play off team, maybe even win a series. We are winning, we are a good team right now. Why do this interview now? Like after the dead line when there isn't anything to do but play?

+1. Whole lotta nothing. The media autogenerates an article about this for Beal and Dame about every 4-5 months, because the media has decided to treat them as curiosities for accepting large contracts to stay with the same teams in a culture where other players are constantly putting on fat suits and/or pouting their way from lily pad to lily pad. There's absolutely nothing new here. Nothing to the significance of the timing. This article is evergreen.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.
