Read on Twitter

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Small sample obviously but through 2 games what jumps out at me is that he is driving more, getting to the foul line more while turning it over less relative to the regular season.

What's irritating me is that he's driving more and not getting as many calls. He'd be averaging 12-13 free throw attempts per game if that were the case.

I still think he needs to throw up a fake every now and then. He is frequently out of control when he drives and I think that the refs don't want to give him bailout calls.

If you fake someone off their feet you almost always get a call if there is any contact.

nitpick about the otherwise good read

Wall is a superstar right now. I don't think the playoffs, barring a complete collapse
in his performance can change that fact.

The fact that the Wizards are on NBA TV when too many games are being played sort of negates that. Wall needs a run that includes challenging Cleveland to get the respect he deserves. If we get to the conference finals, I'm guessing Wall gets more calls next year.

I honestly think Wall had one of the best playoff series I've seen from a point guard just in general. He's established himself as a superstar now.

29.5/10.3 per game with a TS of 62.3%, against a team ranked 4th in defensive efficiency.

John Wall had a terrific series -- & his 4th quarter last night was one for the ages!

Wall came back in w/ @ 8.5 minutes left, & immediately blocked Schroder's open layup. Then he went on to dominate the rest of the game totally, leading a defense that held the Hawks to only 9 more points while himself scoring 17 of our last 22 points by going 6-8 from the floor & 5-6 from the line. Wow...!

It's hard to come up with any other phrase than "total domination" for that 4Q performance from Wall. That was amazing. That was the textbook definition of "putting the team on your back".

This was Wall last night:

And that is just like EG to say, "Hey John, I've made a giant globe out of barbed wire, do you mind carrying it for me? Thanks!?

Sensationalistic cover image and headline, but a pretty good primer on John Wall, then to now.

Not sure this great John Wall story ever made it to this board:

KTM_2813 wrote:True story:

I am about John's age, and I played against him in high school. I sucked. My team sucked. John obviously did not suck, and neither did his team.

Anyway, it's the third or fourth quarter and we're down by at least 20 points. Our coach calls a timeout and says, "We may not win, but we'll show them that we're not intimidated. Get out there, get in a defensive stance, slap the floor, and yell 'Chargers!'"

Our team walks out, petrified at how stupid we're about to look. Of course I have the responsibility of guarding John. He's bringing the ball up, and so we do our thing. We slap the floor and yell "Chargers!"

The whole gym goes silent. All you can hear is crickets. All of a sudden, some dude off of their bench goes yells, "Hey John! Break that white boy's ankles!"

John looks me dead in the eye and just goes, "Nah". Passes to his teammate. By now I've already **** my pants, but I'm so relieved.

For that, he has always been one of my favorite players. Go Wizards.
