Not that it impacts his production, but I was a little taken aback tonight at how much smaller Faried is next to Nene.

The trade wont happen but if you think Favors is not as good as Wall you don't watch Utah. His PER has risen every year he's been in the league and stands at 23+ this year. His WS/48 is 0.197 this year. Wall's best is 0.134.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Kevin love if flawed ON that team, Kyrie is overrated, and LeBron is showing his age. If we do something Drastic like turn beal and a future first in two some good young starters and role players, we can make a run. I still think our best bet is teaming up with Philly, giving them Beal and they send one of their bigs to another team, We get Covington, and some good players form the other team. Denver, Orlando, The kings, The clippers, Nets, Jazz, and team like that would be good for this kind of three way trade.

If "there are deals out there that make this team better now and later" -- sure, lets do as many of those as possible! Of course! But... I'm still waiting to hear about one of those. Robert Covington, for example, is a 25 year old small forward. He's a nice player, an ok player, but I can't see him as someone to target.

Moreover, if we send out Beal, we are left with Garrett Temple and Gary Neal as our 2s. That's not a way to "make this team better now" (depending on who else we got back obviously...).

This off-season Nene goes away, and I sure hope we see the back of Gooden and Humphries. At which point we wouldn't have a single 4 on our roster -- not even one! If we were to send Beal to Philly, I'd want Noel back. Nate thinks his future is as a back up Center, but I see a 21 year old who is putting up excellent numbers already: looks like a starter to me, and maybe a really good one.

Still, Nate may be right -- we'll find out over time. And, Beal is another guy whose future is uncertain, so maybe that makes the trade appropriate. I'd certainly roll with that deal, especially if we got another young player. E.g. T.J. McConnell (but would they do that?), Richaun Holmes, or even Christian Wood.

Actually... Beal for Noel plus whatever would indeed make us better now. But I wonder what Beal's injury and his injury *history* have done to his trade value?

#1 Robert Covington is the perfect small ball 4 for this team. He, is not a true SF no more than Draymond green is. Not saying he will be that god, but he would be a major upgrade at the 4 over any 4 we have.
The whole point of my post was to say that by giving Philly a young star that they so desperately need and want. they will send out a young big to a team in need and we can get some really good young pieces in return.
I've made many posts about this.
To denver, for harris, hickson and Barton
to portlnd for McCollum and vonleh
Orlando for Oladipo and Nicholson.
Houston for KJ and Jones.
Plenty of others out there too, obviously these are just ideas and filler and other things need to be worked out and obviously some of these would not work. But We need to think our of the box here, Just Oh hey Beal for noel lets go, that's kind of not creative. Let the 76Ers send the value for us, we give them beal and we take what we can from them and the other team.

No no, the goal is to pair Wall with Favors. Haha. I totally understand. Thanks for the feedback but I suppose we'll just cross our fingers on Exum.

In case NOLA is trying to sell out their pieces, which I doubt, and you want inmediate results to improve your look this season and/or for FAs, which I dunno if you should, would you be interested in something like,

Brooklyn, in, Tyreke Evans, Ramon Sessions, Nenê
NOLA, in, Joe Johnson, Kelly Oubre, Chris McCullough, Vaulet's rights
Washington, in, Ryan Anderson, Norris Cole, Ajinça

The trade works, I'd understand if you dont feel like jumping the gun with Oubre, especially since Ryno will probably command around 15m$ per this summer's FA, but it makes sense more or less.

Dunno if NOLA could accept if you change Oubre for Satoransky rights, but I doubt it.
If somebody can come up with something better with the same participants and same pieces moved, Tyreke to BRK, Ryno to WAS, expirings and young value to NOLA, I'd like to see it.

How is Markieff a mediorce player? He's better than Humphries,Dudley,Blair, and Gooden. 1st round pick won't matter if it's 8-9 years from now. The roster needs a S4 who isn't old. There isn't any S4 in this years FA so either trade or draft a player/change the space n pace style.

He doesn't want to play for the Suns and a new location would be good. The roster doesn't need another Big who can't run.

If he's playing terribly because he's pouting about playing for the Suns - Is that a valid excuse or is it another reason to not want him on our team?

He got mad because his brother got traded so he is purposely not playing hard and he stated many times he doesn't want to play there. Players need new location to freshen up their career. He can still play and starting with Wall would be easy points for him. The Wizards need a player like him.

Just in case I wasn't clear, that makes him a complete and utter moron imo who I would never want on my team.

And he has played reasonably well this season for a player who is - as I said - will likely play for the MINIMUM next season. News flash - you're usually not going to get a starter for the league minimum. And we have how many players signed for next season?

I understand, and in a sense you're right: how much of an argument can one put up against a guy who plays for the veteran minimum and likely sees next to no minutes anyway?

In another sense, though, I think I'm right: I'd rather reserve those end of bench spots for guys who are young and still have a chance to grow and establish themselves in the league. I think it's important to put yourself in a position where you can be *surprised*. In that sense, I think Nicholson is, as I opined above, dead weight.

Now... I *haven't* "watched him play several games in the NCAA tournament." Sometimes, for sure, we connect w/ a guy because he's been on our radar. But, I'd rather have e.g. Christian Wood in that spot down the bench than Nicholson. Yeah, I doubt CW will turn into much. But there are some possibilities guys like CW that don't seem to exist for guys like AN. Anyway, that was my thinking. YMMV.

How old do you think Nicholson is? He's 26. From reading what you posted, it would be reasonable to assume he's in his 30's.

I like to evaluate players by looking at their stats AND watching them. Watching him play gives me more information. And looking at the stats this season, I'm not at all understanding your view that he can't play and has no upside, but you're entitled to your opinion.

And you really think getting him prevents you from getting Christian Wood? I wouldn't consider that a factor, but to each his own. Obviously, I would get Nicholson because I think he can play some - not to look pretty on the bench. We can have up to 15 folks on the roster, so there is room to put a high upside player on the roster even if he's not ready yet. If that's what you meant to say, then I'd agree with you.

Ruzious -- how many different ways can I back out of having an argument with you? :) About this or, really, anything -- unless there were something at stake about the core of the team going forward, in which case it might be fun to lay out differences.

You are certainly right that signing Nicholson would not prevent us from signing Christian Wood, nor is it that CW in particular is on my radar. I meant no more than that *given* you had two guys in view who are different in their ways, I'd lean to CW over AN. But, in fact, you are right that Nicholson's numbers are up this year over his past seasons -- so maybe you're right and he would be a sensible acquisition. It would make more sense to have him at the back of the bench than e.g. Humphries.

Yeah Hayward for us would be very atractive because with him and - beals cap hold we can still pull of KD 2 DC and it give wall a second ture go to option on the wing, and lyles I really like. But I don't see why the wiz would want favors at all. He is good but does not fit the team that well with gortat. We would be more than happy to give you appropriate value for Hayward and lyles though.

I could live with those deals as well since they all have one thing in common, they're awfully lopsided in the Wizards favor and there's virtually no chance of them happening.

To say the least. All 3 of those were absurdly 1-sided.

Ran these through my "Real Trade Value" toy. The first one doesn't look lopsided at all. Neal and Humphries have a combined value of 268 RTV points. Jones is worth 211 so far this season; McDaniels is actually showing negative value this year.

The second one also isn't very lopsided. Neal and Humphries are at 268; Gibson at 296. The Wizards could add a future second round pick to balance things out. I can see why Chicago might make this trade.

The third one is a wild guess that doesn't seem to make much sense for any of the teams involved.

I would think Gibson should be a few times higher than the combo of Neal and Hump - and I've taken grief for defending Humphries.

And with Embiid - if he has a chance of getting healthy, I think it'd be a huge mistake to give him up for a top 10 protected pick.
