His form looked good, but his jumper wasn't falling, and frankly - he would have had a worse game if the officials didn't bail him out a couple of times.

Illinois vs Loyola... wow. It's tough playing a team with Krutwig, because ya just assume he's a big doughy goofball. You're not prepared that he can do things like knock the ball out Ayo's hands. He's actually a skilled player who not only gets his teammates excited but completely befuddles the opposition. I don't think that'll work in the NBA, but it definitely does in college. That was fun, but poor Illinois. Big Kofi did real well offensively, but his defensive deficiencies were obvious. Tough game for Ayo - he was obviously the focus of Loyola's defense.

Darius Songaila. Cameron Krutwig is just like him. He can very effectively play center even if he’s only about 6 foot seven.

Ayo got kayoed and Cofi got cockblocked. They just got Krutwigged.

Cameron Krutwig has an appearance just made for movies and tv. He looks like a cross between the late John Candy and Richard Kuklinski, The Ice Man. I read he carries a harmonica a la Dan Ackroyd/John Belushi. He obviously rocks a nice mustache.

I’m now rooting for UIC to make another run to the Final Four as long as they don’t face Maryland.

Ayo Dosunmu? Dat2U what’s your assessment. I’m thinking Michael Carter-Williams.

Davion Mitchell might be better than Jared Butler.

They’re both future NBA players. Absolutely no doubt in my mind about that.

Meant to edit this instead of making another quote but what I will say about Dosunmu is he seems a bit prideful and maybe soft. I’ve seen a lot about him on the Big Ten network and he was very emphatic about NCAA announcers pronouncing his name right.

He is not a scrapper.

Cockburn really really reminds me of Seraphin. Way too mild mannered, and not engaged away from the basket.

His offense is much better than his defense. He’s lost in pick and roll defensively even though he’s super agile and nimble on his feet.

I was thinking the same thing. Mitchell dominated. He had the 3 point shot going, he was penetrating real well, and what he does better than anyone is harass the other team's ball-handler. Baylor was going with 5 guys who can shoot 3's, handle the ball some, and pass. And they all play D. They don't need any bigs.

And it wasn't just the pnr. He just doesn't have real good instincts on D - kinda like Seraphin.

Krutwig is a baby Jokic out there. Really fun to watch. So damn smart at both ends.

Buddy Boeheim is no joke. He is a scorer.

He reminds me of Rip Hamilton (not Adam Morrison).

Buddy might be better than Garrison Mathews, But I’m sure he’s not as strong even though Buddy has reportedly been in the weight room. He’s got good stamina and great leg strength/endurance. (Mathews is strong like a tank!)

Doleazj, the big kid for Syracuse. I know absolutely nothing about him or his stats but I like the way he looks out there. He can play.

What about Buddy Boeheim?

The guy can just rise up and get his shot whenever he wants to, and his jumper is wet! He doesn't even show up in any mocks that I've seen. He has a Garrison Mathews vibe.

EDIT: Nevermind. CCJ beat me to it.

Boeheim has been impressive. Definitely a place in the NBA for someone who can shoot like him. He’s better off the dribble than Mathews.

Don’t know how good Boeheim is on the defensive end tho.

You articulated what I saw but didn’t realize. Exactly,DCZ! He is better off the dribble which makes him a potential go to scorer especially if you have guys that can set screens.

Kevin Huerter is about the same size. Buddy is every bit as sturdy and I think a better scorer than Huerter, who is a better facilitator.

Avery Anderson III of Oklahoma State has caught my eye more than Cade Cunningham this game, as OK St is about to lose to the Beavers of Oregon St.

Anderson reminds me of Leandro Barbosa. Very quick. Very explosive scorer who keeps defenders on their heels moving backwards.

In one play Cunningham showed EVERYONE why. That steal was incredible.

Three-point game and they were down 10 about two minutes ago.

Here's what sets Davion Mitchell apart - though he is an older prospect - which will cause him to fall to late 1st:

If I were a GM, I would trade down and select Mitchell and Bassey or best player available among really big, athletic, defensive and complete players. Arkansas has some impressive, passing big men.

I could care less about age. Guys like Larry Bird were grown assed men before they ever got in the league. A 24-year old is still a very young man. Xavier Tillman. He might’ve been older on draft night than Mitchell will be.

I love Jared Butler but I think Davion Mitchell impacts the game even more because he’s dammed disruptive defensively. Butler is a scorer mostly. A really good one, too.
