Unfortunately, I'm more on board with these options than anything else.

1) Pray MIN gets desperate and trade #6 and #18 for #2. Draft Williams.

2) Trade McGee for #2 and draft Williams. Hope for Kanter, but draft Valanciunas if Kanter is off the board. Struggle again next year without a competent C, wind up in the lottery in a much better draft, and shoot for 2012-2013. If we're that high on Kanter, trade #6 and #18 to move up to #4 and draft Kanter there. Lose McGee, gain Williams and Kanter...or lose McGee, gain Williams, Valanciunas, and hopefully Brooks at #18.

3) Keep the pick and draft Valanciunas. He's only 19. He may be overseas for one or two years, but we'll have McGee for that period. Wind up in the lottery again in a better draft year and build for the future. IMO, he's the BAP after Irving, Williams, and maybe Kanter, but it's close.

Ford said Minny would do #2 for McGee straight up from what it sounds like. I'd have to do that. Then trade #6 and #18 for #4 and nab Kanter.

Kanter/Williams/Blatche/Booker/Sera. We can move forward with that.

I like McGee with Kanter; I like McGee with Williams. I worry about our ability to defend the rim w/ a Kanter/Williams front court.

Chad Ford (1:21 PM)

If they could do it straight up ... McGee for No. 2? Yes, I'd probably do it. They could grab Williams at 2 and then get a big ... Kanter, Valanciunas, Biyombo at 6. If it costs them the No. 6 as well, I think the cost is too high.

^ on Simmons' draft preview podcast with Ford, Simmons advocated swapping McGee + 6 for the #2/Williams (Ford: "the Wizards won't do that"). I definitely think that's too steep a price, and I agree w/ Ford that the Wizards won't pull the trigger, anyway.

Can someone start a poll to see who the majority thinks we should draft?
TRADE UP FOR DWILL
TRADE UP FOR KANTER
TRADE UP FOR SOMEONE ELSE
STAY @6 DRAFT KANTER
STAY @6 DRAFT VESELY
STAY @6 DRAFT LEONARD
STAY @6 DRAFT Jonas (staying overseas 1yr)
STAY @6 DRAFT "other"

Yup, I'd have to do this too if I were EG.

PG: Wall, Crawford,
2G: Young, Crawford, Othyus
SF: Lewis, Mo Evans
PF: Williams, Blatche, Booker,
C: Blatche, Kanter, KSera

That's 13 players.

Want to help out the 3, maybe bring back Josh Howard. Plus one D-league PG.

We'd be set.

Derrick Williams is an offensive wing player. Minnesota knows that and they know that he is not much of an upgrade over Beasley.
We spent 3 years of torture to build McGee into a top notch center, olympic invite, top shotblocker adn rebounder in the league with the ability to score in the post and in transition. It just amazes me how little you guys undervalue bigman talent. Do you know how many decades you will have to wait to get another 7'1 center who can finger oll with hands, block three point shots, catch alley hoop passes, and spin withe ball to his left and ride and score fluidly and on top of that, he doesn't have an injury history.
Only the long time wizards fans who have seen Etah Thomas and Haywood start for years and years at center really understand just how silly you guys are at wanting to give up a starting center for an Antwan Jamison clone.
Its not going to happen because unlike you guys EG, just like the older posters have been around when Jahidi White was our starting center and we understand just how hard it is to get a center with upside on both offensive, efensive, isn't undersized for his position, adn most impoGertant of all, doesn't have an injury history.
Antwan Jamison forwards come aound all the time. tweeners that can score who are nothing special on defense. Antwan Jamions never won a championship as a cornerstone player and neither will D. will.
McGee, Wall, Crawford and addng a high bbiq scrapper winner like Vesely (ginob. effect) and gettingg Tyler or Vecevic to shore up the bench is the right path to go.
if we plan on letting championship teams rebuild quickly and knock us backward another decade, let Tyler slip past 18 and watch him dominate in the post offensively and defensively for years and start the fire EG thread again.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

You were the one saying that he was a bad draft pick and that the Wizards should have taken DeAndre Jordan instead.

Its really amazing. According to many here, Vesely has problems walking and chewing gum at the same time, while Chad Ford has his stock rising, perhaps all the way to the third pick. If only these GMs and draft analysts had access to the expertise on this board, then they would know the real Vesely...

Can't finish inside...only makes 74% of his shots while finishing...what a waste...

WD seems to think that after he makes a post, they disappear into thin air, leaving no traces of what he previously said.

WizD -- bro...you do remember the non-stop McGee bashing you were doing for months? It wasn't that long ago.
