Wow. The N-word used cavalierly, ethnic cleansing chants, and an anything goes whatever it takes to win attitude. Talk about going through the crucible-- I dare say that nothing that Vesely is likely to be exposed to during his NBA career is going to compare to what he's already faced as a teenager on the road.

Great, great post Icebreaker. Very enlightening.

I hope you will regularly visit us and add your unique insight and European (by way of Canada) flavor to the forum.

Here's a Vesely hilight mix...

And another...

And another...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5O-gvmc ... re=related

This one starts with Vesely busting heads in the middle of a brawl. Then he goes on to have his best overall game of the season scoring 23 points with 16 boards 5 steals and 13 blocked shots trash talking all the way. Afterwards fans started calling him Rocky...

Vesely was on the radio on 106.7 the Fan with Bill Rohland, Danny Rouhier, and Frank Hanrahan and they asked him what his strength was and he goes...and mind you I seriously could not understand him for the majority of that interview..

Does anyone have Vesectomy's, I mean, Vesely's standing reach, wingspan, and vertical jump numbers? At least until he actually hits the court those numbers might give me some solace.

Okay, after seeing the brawl footage, I'm officially buzzed from too much Kool-Aid.

Who knows? Maybe he shows up with a more polished game than any of us expect, a la Blake Griffin last year.

Whoa -

If you follow the Wizards on Facebook, they just posted a short 5 second video snipped of Vesely's celebration dinner last night.

His girlfriend, sitting next to him, really *is* cute. Jeez.

Vesely has really good form. I can't imagine he won't be able to develop a solid jumper when he's forced to, given that his athleticism won't be as overpowering in the NBA.

I'm just looking forward to seeing him in a game. Highlight vids don't do it for me.

Count me in the group that won't be surprised if Vesely is a borderline All-Star in a few years. If he develops a shot and continues to develop his post-up game, he could be our modern day poor man's James Worthy.

The brawl - Serbian league finale 2010, some players there are hot heads; Veselý tried to do some peacemaking losing two teeth in the process. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyNUaJGa ... r_embedded and related videos) The final minutes of that match were played 3 on 3 as rest of players sended off. I get it on the break, but didn't Chambers have a soaking wet jumper?

Still trying to get the pronunciation down.

Is it two syllables or three?
Vess-lee?
Vees-lee?
Vez-lee?
Vess-ill-ee?

Don't want to be out of place with the rest of the Phone Booth when we're chanting his name.

3 syllables - check this site http://www.acapela-group.com/text-to-sp ... -demo.html choose czech speaker from "select a voice" , copy+paste " Veselý" or " Jan" and press "say it!" the "´" acute accent makes the vowel long.

I'm bad at how to trancript it but someone already did that http://twitpic.com/5fu0gr Seems right to me.
