If Ariza and Beal were playing such good defense, why were IND's 3 wings scoring 47pts on 61% shooting?

Missed the most of game until end. Why did Vesely only play 4 minutes?

Walker had 8 steals in their win over Dallas. MKG had 25/12 including some clutch FTs. If the Bobcats win, they will be 3-3.

It's going to be a tough game for the Wizards.

Beal needs to be way more aggressive.

Ernie Grunfeld.

He acquired two veterans who have to play, Okafor (a good, but overpaid player) and Ariza (very overpaid). This coach has decided Chris Singleton is exclusively a PF and he's now Booker's backup.(Undersized backs up more undersized, but Chris is a quickness matchup problem for opponents. However, IMO neither guy is as good as James Singleton but they are younger). Seraphin backs Okafor.

When the Okafor deal was made most of us knew young guys won't play much. Singleton can no longer play SF any way because of Webster (UFA after this season) and Ariza.

What Ernie Grunfeld has done is acquire expensive veterans to LOSE AND TAKE MINUTES from young guys who should be playing. By acquiring the guys he did, he put pressure on Randy Wittman. He made guys like Vesely have to sulk on the bench while losing.

Truly bad work. Vesely will probably be out of the rotation entirely IF Nene comes back.

All along, Earl Barron and Cartier Martin could be giving quality minutes for pennies on the dollar of what Ted Leonsis and EG spend on Okafor and Ariza.

Truly amazing work but a GM who's going on 10 years on the job.

If we lose to Charlotte and fall to 0-6, there has to be a firing that will happen. I think we may want to cheer for a Bobcat win against us

we have absolutely nothing to show for 2 horrible seasons we had with the trading of our pick for Miller and Foye and then the drafting of Jan Vesely. That is what gets GM's fired.

Except in Washington

Unfortunately, the first firing that would occur would be Wittman. He would be the scapegoat for Ted and Ernie's failure.

Nobody is getting fired until Wall and Nene are healthy. And even then, it'll just wind up being Wittman, so who even cares.

cant keep firing the coach. Red Aurbach couldnt win with this team. The team sucks because of the GM..not the coach

I dont think we'll have to cheer too hard for that....

I actually like the Bobcats team. They have a nice mix of defense, scoring and size, especially now that Kemba has found his groove.

Our team looks good on paper, but we don't seem to have nice anything, we seem more mixed up. I'm sure Nene and Wall returning will solve all our problems. But then again, this is the Wizards we are talking about!

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

@ CCJ- Can we at least send Vesely down to NBDL so he can work on his game? Where is our player development like other teams?

LyricalRico wrote:I'm actually encouraged by this game. Okafor has shown in the last couple games why we traded for him. Beal is coming around. Price had a career high in assists (although he still shoots too much IMO, but he's still improving). Loved the defense.

It wasn't all good (didn't get much out of Booker/Seraphin/Vesely and the evidence is mounting that keeping Pargo over Mack was a mistake), but a solid overall showing on the road IMO. Let's get the next one!

Go Wiz!

Mack would not help in crunch time. That is what is killing them.

You need a PG SG combo that can bring the game home.

You want Price and Beal or you want Crawford and Beal.

What Randy did...way to late..was go Price, Beal, Crawford.

Hey, I would take that over what he has been doing. But he needs to go to it earlier. Before the 7-0 run. He needs to turn to it at the close of the half at the 3 minute mark and the close of the game at the 6 minute mark.

But no way that small ball works for that long at the close of a game. He just has to realize that he needs to go Crawford and Beal at the 1 and 2. Its his only real choice without Wall. Except it.

Lets start a "Ernie must go" chant at the next home game. Maybe that will get Ted's attention.

Or you could chant Let Go Wizards and get everyone else involved.

Wiz fans at games are the lamest I have ever experienced.

llcc25, I suppose it would not hurt but there generally isn't any great coaching taking place in the D-League. Vesely played a lot of minutes in the NBA last season. Seems to me he should have been in the D-League last season.

If Vesely could go there and take all the jumpers he needs to practice or wants to, why not?

I would imagine it could really demoralize Vesely to be in the D-League, but I don't see that it would hurt his game.

The biggest problem with this team is we have no closer. No go to person. Beal is playing much better and he might be that guy some day, but he just isnt there yet.

With that said, we could have easily tied up the game if Booker passed the ball to Okafor under the basket instead of taking a contested jump hook. Okafor was wide open.

More like Seraphin has been Sera-stink the last two games.
