Thank you

And not to mention, great SL stats and $2.50 will be you a vente cup o coffee at Starbucks.

Jeez, do we have to qualify every SL game thread comment on player X with "yeah, it's only summer league"? This is a fricken message board.

I believe Summer league is ideal for finding out what a player "can't" do.

I used to - until seeing Amir Johnson becoming a very good NBA player after watching him stink in SL.

Olynyk vs Drummond today.

You probably couldn't ask for a better matchup in terms of evaluating Olynyk. Drummond as a physical, athletic beast of a specimen and talent. If Olynyk performs against him then I'm officially loading the revolver.

Good point. I saw Ibaka look horrible a few years back during his 2nd yr (Harden's rookie season I think) and I trashed him pretty hard...

Some guys don't take summer league seriously. Ibaka didn't seem to at the time. Nick Young definitely never did. So it's hard to grade their NBA potential when they aren't really giving a full effort, but many players do.

You can still get info from summer league. It's better in finding out what a player can't do rather than what he can, and it's moreso about just wanting to see that he is the clear alpha of his team more than anything. When that's not happening and he's playing with scrubs, you get worried.

Like last year you knew right away that T-Rob was just going to be in a lot of trouble coming into the NBA season based on his SL performance.

yep, kind of like finding out that Trey Burke is going to have a hard time getting his shot off in the NBA.

Meh. He got 12 shots off with none of them getting blocked, and he attempted 8 free throws. He struggled hitting his shots (1 for 12) but I'm not ready to conclude he can't get his shot off.

He also managed 7 rebounds in 32 minutes.

People have been starved for some basketball. Its expected they would over react to the first game.

So Steve Adam and Perry Jones didn't play at all in game 2 for OKC.

OKC has some interesting young prospects. They also picked up Daniel Orton. Maybe he starts to put it together finally.

I like what Orlando is doing. I felt they really needed to find a PG that would lead them which is why I said get Burke. Who would have seen them trying to turning VO into that player?

I wonder if they really want him to be a PG or if they are just trying to develop his skills to be a more rounded guard. Kind of MJ/Kobe type that can run the offense from SG.

He needed to work on his handles. Playing him a PG during summer ball isn't a bad idea at all. Specially for VO who is up to any challenge. He can learn a lot by doing that. Great experience if they want him to be their stud player.

Bringing in Al Harrington was a smart move. You have to have some vets like that on your team to help get them established. They also have Big Baby and Afflalo to help there.

And they added Osby who I liked.

And next year Nelson and Turkoglu come off the books and they will be done paying Gil 22,346,536. They should have tons of cap space. So they are sitting pretty to tank on more year, add another nice piece and get whatever FA they need if available.

They should be back in the playoffs in 2-3 years. And in a perfect storm, maybe sooner.

Going to be some battles for years to come between Beal and VO.

Right. I'm not worried yet. Just one SL game and a transition period. I would expect him to do better once he has a stable unit and offense to run. Wait till he is out there with Kanter, Favors and Gorden Haywood. He will look better.

They are rebuilding so he will have time to develop with the team.

It would be prejudiceD of me if I were to racially stereotype someone based on
their grammar. It would be stupid as well since I could very easily be totally wrong.

I remember reading somewhere that VO at PG in SL was just a feeler to see how if he could play the position, I highly doubt he starts at PG to start the season, watching the game today he still needs to work on keeping his dribble and communicating on the court but not bad at all. I cant wait for the Wiz in SL im getting impatient.

Maybe we were watching a different game - I saw two shot swatted and one tipped. And he definitely struggled to get space for his shots. I was very impressed with him picking up loose balls though - he is in control but with energy.
