Unless they cut Meeks or trade Smith, that's what we have. I don't see White coming here unless they exhaust all trade options. If they are still looking for another wing, there is no White or Robinson though Meeks could also be bought out in that case. Penava or Moore or both for two-way spots. I'm not 100% sure about whether they can still use Robinson in the G-League.

Howard is an upgrade over Gortat. Jeff Green isn't even an upgrade over Scott. Austin Rivers isn't an upgrade over anybody.

Frankly, I'd rather have signed Alex Len for the minimum than Howard (even for the minimum). Len is young enough that he could have wound up a Wizard for some years going forward - on a reasonable contract. Whereas Howard is only a rental.

There is no move we've made so far this off season, post draft, that actually enhances the Washington Wizards going forward -- with the possible exception (long shot, of course) of picking up Thomas Bryant. Everything else is just more of the Ernie way: build with bandaids.

While he goes on in this way over the years, we watch a bunch of teams in our conference take the other road & actually build teams with growing & sustainable impact in the league: Boston & Philly, obviously, but also Indiana & -- with less success so far -- Milwaukee. If you look at the situation objectively, your point of view uncolored by being a Wizards fan, it's obvious what the result is, what the meaning is. Namely, that this generation of the Washington Wizards -- built out of the 2010, 2012 & 2013 drafts (with the awful hiccup of 2011) & essentially never enhanced meaningfully in the 5 years since then -- has peaked & is on the decline, with pretty much no way to turn that around.

I've been a Wizards fan for more than 25 years now; I don't want this to be true, I don't take any pleasure in its being true. But it is all the same.

Have to believe Oubre is getting traded at some point. We can't afford him. Or can we?

Next summer will be very busy for EG if they don't make a few moves. Sato, J. Smith, Meeks, Oubre, Kieff, Green, Rivers and Howard all have one year deals or one year left on their deals. That leaves Beal, Porter, Brown and Wall. Maybe Bryant.

Yeah... tons of money freeing up next year, which is why im glad to see all the one year deals (DJ, Boogie, Redick, Tyreke, KCP, Gay, Payton, Hezonja, Noel, Curry...) Helps water down the market for Oubre and Sato.

Plus, the RFA market was DEAD...hopefully we see somewhat the same next year.

If LAL gets another star and Boston/Philly look great...then thats 3 elite teams and one juggernaut... GM's may shy away from overpaying an RFA just to lose in the 1st round.

Don't forget Mahinmi. And his $15 million contract.

Wall is the best point guard Dwight has played with and Dwight is the best center Wall has played with. How long have we been waiting for a roll man to actually be a lob threat and suck gravity on the court?

And actually try to block shots...

Not to mention Austin rivers is a fringe starter but he proved he can create his own shot somewhat?
And uncle Jeff dunk on literally every team last year...

This the best center and best bench we have had in a long time..I’m excited
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft
mike, hakeem and Barkley on the same team!!!!

Brooks has a 7-6 postseason record against Pop. Obviously a better better coach.

Next year’s squad will be the most talent we’ve had in a couple decades. If Brooks can keep that locker room intact, we might be looking at an ECF run if not a Finals appearance. Dwight does everything we need out of our center position. He rebounds, defends, blocks shots and scores with high efficiency from the interior. He was made for John Wall and vice versa. But we all know the potential downside.

Hopefully there'll be no problems in the locker room and we see great chemistry on the court. If things don't work out could Ernie still just blame bad luck and say that they had all the talent but such is life? Damn.

Well, welcome Howard, Bryant and Green!

I like this, I was hoping we could have traded Ian for him instead. but, **** it. I like Howard here, if he can fit in he is a steal at 5 mil. Man can you imagine if we could have talked gortat into coming off the bench and then getting howard! I like this trade howard can still play, and I think he is a massive up grade. Gortat will be missed but at this point we traded gortat for howard in a way, austin rivers should be able to hand wall his towels and water pretty effectively.

The Post hasn't reported anything yet, so don't count your chickens yet.

There's a good chance for a #soWizards moment.

I am really like howard wall combination. To finally have a shot blocker, with strength and can move his feet, is going to make the wizards watchable this season.

My dream scenario is trading ottop porter and 2 first round picks for anthony davis LOL.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

I wouldn’t make any other moves yet, I would wait and see what Wall-Beal-Oubre-Porter-(motivated) Howard can do.

We have Oubre as a trade chip, Hell, we have Troy Brown as another trade chip. If Jeff Green plays like he did last season, you have nice wing depth with him, Sato, Porter already.

I would rather keep and develop these guys, but if all goes well, Oubre+Brown+2019 1st is a hell of a trade package around the deadline.
