A trade with Phoenix seems pretty likely to me because they control some of Phoenix' future picks.

They just need to decide whether they want to invest a lot in Booker, or invest less in Durant. My guess is that they'll go with Durant. If they can trade Durant for their 2027 pick back plus one good forward (Smith or Eason) and a filler contract (Brooks or VanVleet) they can set themselves up for contention but still have enough talent to stay in the mix after Durant ages out.

Meanwhile, Phoenix would stay at least marginally competitive with that young forward to pair with Booker, and they could plan to tank during the 2026-27 season and hopefully add another good talent to the mix to keep them afloat for the next several years as they work off the rest of their pick debts.

I don't know how the Second Apron issue affects that trade though.

O-fer 7 if you count the FTs. I never understood that signing.

The way the game has changed is remarkable.
The players are so much better than they were back
in the late 60s early 70s. The way the game is reffed
has changed a lot and seems to change yearly.
And the 3 point shot which was a rarity when it
was first introduced is now a requirement for virtually
all players.

I remember when Cade Cunningham did suck. (Jordan Poole too.) This year was a new opportunity for Cade and he improved a lot.

I'm talking about the draft. People on this board said he would not be good. Not that he wasn't good but would get better. They said he was super inefficient and wouldn't be a good player. Dude looks like he's a top 10 guy now lol.

Ah, sorry. I try not to make draft predictions as I am not good at them.

The box score shows that Franz scored 32 points, but he was anti-clutch often and went 3-11 from 3, bad game for him.

A-a-a-a-ron Gordon. What a game and what a finish. The Zubac-Jokic battle was giving off late 90s Balkan strife vibes (foreign affairs reference too much for a basketball message board?) and Jokic was about to lose his mind with the refs. Loved seeing Russ cheering his dudes on, too.

Grizzlies swapped their first rounder for the right to get swept in the first round. They made it a game, even without Ja.

I really like Houston's team. Hopefully we can build like they did. Green and Thompson are a lot of fun - just ridiculously high level athletes.

Edey with nearly a triple 8. 8 points, 8 boards, 7!!! blocks. From a player deemed too slow to play in the league. Okay he fouled out but there’s no question he’s one of the best in the class. If we’d been able to pull off my trade back plan and gotten Castle and Edey we’d have engineered a coup.

Though probably we’d jeopardize our spot in the tank stakes. So okay.

It's interesting how Edey is used exclusively as a defender and a screen setter. They don't even think to use him as a post up option even though that's all he did at Perdue. Basically, his style of play in the NBA is indistinguishable from Clingan, even though they were quite different in college.

It'll be interesting to see how his offensive game is developed in upcoming years.
