He took one shot and no threes. I know he sucks on D, but how do you not get him a look from 3? Shows you how we really need a backup PG and well, Charlotte did guard guys tonight very well. And we have too many guys looking for their own offense and not trying to make the extra pass.

Tonight his shot was off and he forced a couple of 3s late but still had 18 with a 57% TS.

Agreed. Quiet active. When he fills his body up, he should be alright defensively with that type of effort.

Not really. The game plan was to feed Sarr which is fine, then CJ went into chuck mode. Plus he went cold from 3.

He only took 7 shots before fouling out.

Nope, he played well in both games before this one. At least he does other things like rebound (8) and pass it (5 dimes). When you put up 34 in your last game, defenses are going to be all over you. He didn't react well or shoot the three well. Didn't like the three he took on the break with nobody underneath the basket. If you are Steph Curry or on a heater, that's fine, but he was not. Not worried about him.

He seems bound and determined to make that extension look as maximally stupid as humanly possible each and every minute on the floor.

As long as this is the last year of it. I worry that we might trade CJ/Khris and bring in some other scrubs with another year or two on their contracts. I hope we just buy them out.

CJ really trying to be the new Kuzma.

If you look at the box score it looks like a mediocre game but he was really atrocious out there

Didn't say we should be trying to win with this loaded draft coming up and the Knicks protected pick situation, but I think people shouldn't get too upset if CJ is throwing up bad shots, or Middleton is taking time from youngsters either. I'd rather be competitive and interesting to watch with a few vets playing who can hopefully garner us a draft pick, than the garbage I watched in the second half tonight. The Dallas game was an enjoyable a time I've had watching Wizards basketball in years. I don't mind losing and tanking but I don't like losing to bad teams at home by 20+ that just played the night beore. I know, it's a rebuild. :banghead:

Let me put it this way:

I don't think they will play to tank again after this season. I wouldn't care though. If they get hosed by the lottery yet again next May, I'd be for tanking again.

But yeah, I don't think they go into tank mode anyway after this year because it won't be possible, they already clearly have some little bits of talent and potential here and there, and we have a really, really good chance if Phoenix sucks, of landing a top 4-5 pick and maybe better (these days I never assume anything). But yeah, I think they will view spring '27 and beyond, as drafts that will depend upon swaps, and extra firsts, and just scouting. You can only tank deliberately with young talent so long before they either leave, or just make your team better, so I suspect next year, regardless of what happens, this is at least a 30+ win team, and if we get lucky, maybe better.

100%

With hindsight, big mistake to extend him. He is taking valuable minutes off our young core. And the problem is they will play Kispert many minutes on the hope he bounces back…

We going with Scrub Carrington or Schlub Carrington? Gotta be one or the other until my man shows something.

Kinda happy we got the L though. Adds some fuel to our tank, even if some of the young guys looked a bit janky.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Big win for the for the ping pong order

I think this will be an issue all year since we don't have a traditional power forward or a decent backup center. Rebounding -13 tonight. Sarr had just four rebounds. We're killing CJ and others tonight but at 7-1, 240, he needs to grab more then 4 boards in 25 minutes.

This against a team that starts Miles Bridges at the 4 with the lowest pedigree C rotation in the league

Don’t wanna write him off yet because of his age, but I’m not sure if Bub is a starter in this league. At best looks like a back up combo guard.

He's not a starter. He can't bend defenses. Other than a decent [looking] jumpshot, he offers pretty much nothing.

Total tank game by Keefe.

That middle of 3rd into 4th rotation was tank a luscious.

Krispy, CJ, Vuc, Whitmore sharing the court! You’re definitely getting no defense and no ball movement.

CJ absolutely chucked us out of this game… but man, Krispy was awful as was Vuc.

It was maximally stupid the second the ink was dry, we are stuck with him except for a swap for some other teams Corey.

Young players will be up and down. Kyshawn has been our best player so far; this was the down.
