Almost. This game pretty much showed me that we have some young ones that need some seasoning. We put up a few bad shots, but overall we shot pretty well. Our D was OK in some spots and we had a few lapses. A call here, a call there, and maybe that would have been the difference. On a positive note, we had 3 double-doubles...Blatche, Haywood, and Jamison.

well, what are you going to do......we lose by 1 without our top 2 players....dealing Marion still a good trade, Phoenix?
Nash hit a big 3
we missed one
we fouled Nash
Mason got blocked by Nash
Jamison missed the put-back when he got fouled
just so happend that Amare was on a FT streak.
EDIT:should be 5 second call on PHX (thanks miller)
tough luck down the stretch

sigh ... it's hard to take a moral victory when the losing streak hits 7, but i guess that's what you gotta do. all of these losses -- more to come, it looks like -- means that there won't be a grace period to get everyone back on the same page when gilbert returns. they are gonna have to start winning right away.
good to see roger straighten his shot out, good to see haywood with a solid, efficient game and good to see blatche make positive contributions even though he was awful early on. once those guys can go back to being the fallback options and not the 2-3-4 options, the wins will come back.

I'm not too disappointed in tonights loss, although this was definitely a winnable game. There were a lot of blown opportunities down the stretch with Young missing a lay-up, the errant pass out of bounds after a rebound, and the failure to get that last rebound off of a Suns miss. I also thought the refs were pretty bad this game.
Once again I thought E.J. played Sangalia way too long. I also thought the Wiz could have gone to Jamison more on the block since Hill was guarding him most of the game. Jamison should have been able to post him up. However, I wouldn't blame E.J. for the loss. The players had their opportunities, they just screwed them up.
Oh well, if we can get a win against the Clips, we will only be two games below .500 after the AS. If Caron and then Gil come back healthy, we can make a run at the end.

Yeah, Haywood too. Brining Wood in at the 6:53 mark was too late, IMHO. We needed stops and offensive rebounding, and we weren't getting it with the current lineup.
I'm not going to harp on it. I'm sure they were all dead tired out there.

Just imagine how tired they will be tomorrow night in Golden St.

Golden St. is pure garbage but there is no way in hell we make that one a close game unless CB or AD suit up (probably still wouldn't matter).

I've got no complaint whatsoever with EJ's rotations. I think he handled it perfectly. He rested Blatche for the last 6 minutes of the first and third, and he rested Haywood for the first 6 minutes of the 2nd and 4th. That's all he has to do every night. Sprinkle in a little bit of Pecherov if the situation calls for it, and that's all there is to it. It's really, very very simple. Both players get 36 minutes, neither gets overly tired, and we always have a legit center on the court.
I also liked that he moved Nick Young to SF when Jamison sat. That's necessary because we have no scoring threat without Jamison on the floor. I thought it worked pretty well.
If EJ would simply handle his rotations like this every night, we'd have a couple more wins.
Nice game from everybody on offense. The youngsters made a few bonehead plays on defense, but that's gonna happen. Nick Young might just be a superstar someday once he starts getting the calls when he goes to the basket. Perhaps he was a bit out of control, but I'll take it from a rookie. I love the fearlessness.
Haywood was great except when he tried to do too much. Calm down Haywood. Stick with what you're good at. Don't get fancy out there.
We did something weird in our rotations that cost us a lot. When Nash ran the high pick and roll with Stoudemire at the top of the key, we kept sending a guard into the lane in a position where he really wouldn't be able to do anything anyhow. It left Raja Bell wide open and Nash hit him for 3 wide open three pointers. I just didn't understand why we did that. The help defense should be coming from the power forward on that play, not the shooting guard. What exactly is Nick Young supposed to do if Amare gets the ball in the paint?
