Was kinda hard to watch. :(

Sad, but I hope that the people on this board are able to divorce the idea of disliking Austin as a prospect and disliking him personally. I wonder if he'll be allowed to return to Baylor on scholarship and get his degree even if he can't play.

Just horrible to hear that. I remember Chris Patton at Maryland. God, sometimes life isn't fair.

Yep. I immediately thought of Chris Patton as well. This is both sad and a thing to celebrate. The problem with Marfans is that most often doesn't get diagnosed prior to an autopsy. I like Austin and hope he lives a long, fulfilling life, even if it won't be focused on playing basketball.

Super sad, and if E.G. is going to blow the pick anyway on euro trash or sell it, pick Austin just so he can have his dream of being a drafted. I hope if the kid finds his way, and if his only passion really is basket ball and being in the NBA, he can still go the coach , scout and front office rout. I wish the kid the best, it's just terrible, that interview was so hard to watch.

I think Staukus is probably the perfect 3rd guard we have been searching for ages. Too bad its impossible to get him.

I think of a "3rd guard" as a combo guard in the Jamaal Crawford mold. I don't think Stauskas can play any PG. He's more of a 3rd wing. We already have that guy in Webster.

Ford has us taking CJ Fair with the 46th pick.

Friendly reminder: DX and Chad Ford's final mocks last year both had Noel going #1 and Bennett going #8. While these guys know more than most, they still may not know very much -- which is why the draft is so much fun! This is a good week to to assume 95% of what you read is a complete fabrication -- and trust Woj.

this guy escaped my radar. Didn't realize jordan clarkson could play pg as well. Hes super shifty. I had looked at his age and numbers and dismissed him but now will take a closer look. Any of you know much about him?

Well we did bring back Jefferson for a 2nd try out, so if that is worthy anything, it may be a positive sign for Corey fans. Drafting Jefferson would immediately tell me they aren't going to pony much up for Booker. I think Booker had a better senior year then Jefferson but I think it is interesting to note that Jefferson shot 37% on 3pt shots this past season, albeit on 1 attempt a game...but hey...could be the start of a good thing.

Jefferson put up real strong junior year stats, but fell off this season. I won't be upset if he's the pick. I wish he had more girth and was true NBA PF sized. Cory might be light in the cakes like Otto Porter.

I will be much happier if Jarnell Stokes falls to 46. I also prefer but could be way wrong to prefer Cameron Bairstow over Cory Jefferson. The Australian dude is 250 and legit PF/C sized. I think with the Wizards PnR game Bairstow could be a nice post up threat.

I believe Gooden is a good stretch four. I hope with Gortat back the Wizards add a thuggish or banger type big.

Man, such a heartbreaking story with Austin. I really wanted to see him in Washington for the past two years.

But I got a new kid now, look at him, would fill our Backup Big roll nicely and maybe his body wont break down before he gets really really good! He's just a Video Game Center.

Would LOVE him in DC

Being of South Asian descent, I kinda want Sim to succeed as well...but you have to be realistic, he probably won't be drafted, and will be borderline to make a team. I think he has some skills and decent instincts, and while the size can be a plus, his conditioning may be too large a minus for him to overcome. But I'll be rooting for him!

And that about the draft order I would say as well. I don't know. I just don't see this draft as good as people projected it. And there are so many young players that are upside types in Wiggins, Embiid, Exum and Noah Vonleh. It could take a while for them to get it going but hug hands, nimble, big.. real interesting.

Jabari Parker should produce right away. I like him.
Marcus Smart will compete but he is a converted PG with only two years of that in college.
Julius Randle will be coming off surgery. Same with Embiid

Aaron Gordon is ready to contribute right away. I really like him. Which we could get him.
Nik Stauskas and McDermott will make buckets

I think Mitch McGary is underated in this draft. And I really like Mr Jarnell Stokes. Very smart mature young man. Military kid. Another young man I would like to see a Wizards.

Gary Harris is a complete player offense and defense. He should be able to contribute.

Its not that I think it a bad draft. It just going to take some time for some of these player with high upside to shine. And there are some injuries. Actually, what I like about it is the defense. Aaron, Embiid, Wiggins, Smart, McGary and Stokes. And I like Julius Randle as a baby Zack Randolf.

Wiz are having LaQuinton Ross in for a second time. Can't say I see the fascination. Nate usually has the insight with the Ohio State players, so maybe he's got a better view. I think he had the highest body fat percentage in the combine - maybe he was trying to convince people he's a 4 - and being a stretch 4 might be his best chance of making the NBA.

Ditto on Stokes & McGary -- maybe McGary got pushed down because of his back problems. Hard for a fan to get a sense of whether his injury points to a long term problem or what?

Not as sure about Harris. As to Gordon -- whether he can contribute right away or not, this kid is coming into the league younger than Beal! The upside is there in spades.

The guy who looks way underrated to me is Kyle Anderson. He looks like he has a shot to be a terrific NBA player.

I'm fascinated by Elfrid Payton. He's risen to #8 at DR. I get two totally opposite vibes off of him: John Wall and Nick Young!! (can't get much more opposite than that, can you? :) )

This draft is plain crazy!

Spencer Dinwiddie looks like a R2 sleeper to me. Am I wrong?

41% on 3pointers (taking a good number, too). 85% from the line (and gets there a lot). Gets a high number of assists for a 2 guard. Terrific size and length. Looks like an NBA player to me....
