Rand Paul is yet another Republican who should be prosecuted - for violating whistleblower protection laws. He did it on the Senate floor https://www.insider.com/rand-paul-just-revealed-the-alleged-whistleblowers-identity-2020-2 , he's tried to bully the media to do it for him at the embarrassingly moronic Trump rallies for morons. And Rand Paul is the biggest phony in the Republican party. At least most of the Senate Republicans are up front with their complete worthlessness.

I'm surprised Trump hasn't pardoned Manafort. Maybe coming soon.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

And that's a quid pro quo for Flynn's loyalty to Trump over loyalty to country. It's sickening.

And these pardons aren't just for loyalty to trump over America, they're to BUY future loyalty - so these criminals don't rip Trump in the books they'll eventually write.

Exactly

According to some lawyers I just saw on msnbc, you can't claim the 5th amendment when you've been pardoned. Flynn can be forced to testify against trump now. Trump has to pardon himself now and its not clear he can.

I mean, he probably will, but it probably won't hold up, unless he gets a super friendly judge. If I were him I'd try it - he's gotten away with everything so far.

And you can't proactively pardon yourself in advance. There are charges that have not yet been filed since he is still in office. Mueller specifically said there are things that can be prosecuted when Trump is no longer under the protection of the presidency.

That's not true - you can pardon yourself for all crimes you've committed in the past. If I understand correctly? Pardon doesn't apply to future crimes, but is applicable to future investigations into your past crimes.

I am thankful for my mom moving back to Ohio where I can visit her. Thankful for my wife, and my kids, and my cats. Thankful for new days and old friends.

Hmm. Reading deeper, I guess you can be pardoned for crimes not yet charged as Ford did for Nixon. Still there are charges waiting for Trump that are not Federal crimes, thus he can't pardon himself in New York for instance. Hm. But yeah 100% chance he declares himself "pardoned for all federal crimes discovered and undiscovered, past and future, no you missed, no it bounced off me, nuh uhh no way because I have a forcefield, la la la I'm not listening". Including granting relief from any IRS penalties if he can get away with it. Which seems to me was probably one of the key reasons he ran for president, behind ego. But damn. Interesting. Another reason to flip those Georgia seats and pack the courts.

He can pardon himself but it would end up in the Supreme Court to determine whether it can stand legally. He’s **** when it comes to state investigation but it will be interesting to see the Magats try to mental gymnastics their way out of Trump pardoning himself for crimes.

Thankful for those healthcare workers working over the holiday. Thankful that Trump is on the way out. Thankful for the Boston Cream Pie in the refrigerator.

Fascinating. I'll want to hear what the scholars conclude on it. It's time for Dems to be a lot more aggressive, and this could provide a path to do so.

Yeah. Cause the prospect of McConnell not letting anything hit the floor is very real. It’s so ridiculous.

I wish we had a parliamentary system.
