yes, moronic. yes, self-delusional. overall bothersome? notsomuch. there are a fair share of ostriches out there and this one just so happens to be good at hitting a baseball. i put no more stock into this than what Ja Rule had to say about 9/11, or what Paris Hilton thinks of border control.

After how awesome this season had gotten, the ending was super LAME. So many damn cliches and not enough suspense.

Yeah, a little bit of a let-down, but they had to wrap-up all loose-ends.

I'm glad you guys haven't posted spoilers. I'm about 6 episodes behind on Dexter, so I will see if I can catch up by Wednesday. I'm up to the episode where Jordan Chase is now involved after his head of security was in a car wreck and left all the barrels on the street.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Clippers owner Donald Sterling is a world-class xxxx. The if the NBA should contract a team or two, I suggest that they start with the Clips. Sterling is the anti-Leonsis.

Shout it out: Sterling heckles Davis
LOS ANGELES – It’s not uncommon to hear Los Angeles Clippers fans heckle Baron Davis(notes). Of late, however, the jeers directed at the team’s struggling point guard are coming from a far more surprising source: The man paying Davis, Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
Sterling has expressed his displeasure about Davis’ play by taunting him from his courtside seat at Clippers’ home games, several sources told Yahoo! Sports. Among Sterling’s verbal barbs:
– “Why are you in the game?”
– “Why did you take that shot?”
– “You’re out of shape!”
While Sterling has also taunted other Clippers players since the middle of last season, none have received it worse than Davis, the sources said. Davis has missed 14 of the team’s 25 games this season and is averaging 7.4 points while making a team-high $13 million. Including this season, Davis has three years and nearly $42 million left on his contract.

My conspiracy theory is that he wants Baron to snap and rise to insubordination of an extraordinary level so he can void his contract.

Re: Official Not So Random Thoughts Thread Version 2.2
My theory of how it will end up is Baron will pull a Haynesworth. There are ways to make a coach or an owner rue the day the signed you. Shutting it down and having a bad attitude but not giving management enough to void your deal seems easy to me. Sterling's a fool for doing what he's doing. Davis could petition the league office and the player's union with grievances against his owner.
Sterling is harassing an employee, he's undermining his coach, and he's crossing the line with criticisms that will offend players besides Davis. Worst of all Sterling isn't manning up and accepting responsibility for signing Baron.

Re: Official Not So Random Thoughts Thread Version 2.2
Although I think Sterling is an idiot, I can't really blame the guy too much. I'd be pissed as hell if I gave someone 65 million dollars or whatever it was and they became lazy, never worked on their game, and out-of-shape.
On one hand it's the owners fault for giving that contract and on the other hand it's Baron's fault for mailing it in after his contract. In the real world he would simply be fired for not doing his job.

If anyone in the NBA deserves heckling, it's Baron Davis. Not that that makes Sterling less of a wad.

Thanks to all above who posted about Dexter. It's one of the best shows I've seen in awhile. I'd say it rivals Sopranos as one of my all-time favorites.
I watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix online (highly recommend by the way--very cheap form of entertainment either w/online viewing or DVD by mail) and can't wait to get the DVDs to see the rest (only Season 1&2 online currently). Thanks for not posting spoilers, too!
Also, if you haven't already checked out Weeds, I'd recommend that, too. Funny, fast paced, a little crazy, but very entertaining. Seasons 1 through 5 are on Netflix, but be warned you may become addicted & miss out on precious sleep if you get hooked.

Anyone else ever just have the overwhelming want to just not leave the house? That is what I have wanted to do and accomplished pretty much recently.
I am Scabs.

Saw "Tron: Legacy" last Saturday evening and can't recommend it enough. Even better, though, is the soundtrack by Daft Punk. Best movie soundtrack ever? I think so.

If you haven't seen the original, do you miss out on a lot of the story in the new one?

No, you'll be fine. Everything is explained early.
The filmmaker's use of digital imagery to convincingly re-create a young Jeff Bridges is going to be revolutionary. I can see every aging actor & actress demanding this.

Re: Official Not So Random Thoughts Thread Version 2.2
lots of movies i want to see but like Scabs alluded to earlier... i just don't want to go outside.
The Fighter, Tron, Black Swan...
oh yeah. played ball against a bunch of asians the other day. the zone defense, if you're not used to playing against it, totally messes up your game. it virtually eliminates the dribble/drive no matter how fast/quick you are, and they can definitely recover back to the kick/out (for pick-up game caliber shooters). HOWEVER... you can just pick and screen them to death. i really don't understand the axiom "you need shooters to beat the zone". pick and roll! pick and roll and back door screens!
in football terms, why find a hole in their zone and force the slant into that tiny window? why not run twins/trips right and bubble screen them? if you KNOW they're in zone... hahahaha... sorry but i think this thought may have been a little too random. i'll cut myself off now.

Re: Official Not So Random Thoughts Thread Version 2.2
Funny story...so my coworker and I were having a discussion at his cubicle last week and he had just negotiated some pretty nice rates for some Harvard physicians (We work in physician recruiting). He had been working these cases for weeks, so I mentioned to him that he should take the rest of the day off. Go home and rest. He replied "I dunno about that, I'm feeling pretty cocky today."
Fast forward to today and he was reprimanded by our human resources manager for "creating a hostile work environment." Apparently that comment he made had been completely misconstrued as having sexual innuendo. There's only one female worker within earshot of his cubicle.

^ did anything come from that?
2 rather interesting wiretap articles:
http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... nd_return/
preliminary all-star votes. the power of a NYC market is in full effect. i mean, gallo is outgaining iggy, and felton is ahead of joe johnson. hibbert is ahead of mcgee.. which is something i just can't fathom. next season mcgee is going to make a push for top 5 for sure. not sure how bogut is #5. he's clearly the 2nd best C in the league (if you don't count gasol or duncan as C's).

shows that median fan ages are... 11 years younger than baseball's? kids really hate baseball nowadays huh? i'm surprised for football as well. nascar is oddly old as well (to me at least). very interesting stuff.
