Are you referring to his desire to jail flag burners? Trump has a big problem with the 1st Amendment/free speech, most Dictators do.

Haven't you people figured Trump out yet? He's the Troller-in-Chief.
Step 1: Tweet about a hot-button issue that rally's your base, but throw in an absurdity (revoking citizenship) to trigger liberals and make sure it's front page news.
Step 2: Watch liberals get triggered
Step 3: Point out that the last attempt to ban flag burning took place in 2005 in a bill authored by Hillary Clinton
Step 4: Enjoy the cognitive dissonance while simultaneously pointing out media hypocrisy - further discrediting the media.
Step 5: Some stupid liberal protestor burns a flag.
Step 6: Base is rallied. Trump seems "American". Liberals seem "un-American". Political win.

Having half the country think he's a fascist out to end free speech isn't great "trolling". Dudes president now.

Gotta know your audience. In Gallup polling, 56% of Americans favor a constitutional amendment to ban flag burning, and another 21% don't favor it, but wouldn't be upset if such an amendment passed. So basically, only 23% of Americans would actually be upset if a flag burning amendment passed. And most of that 23% would never vote for Trump anyhow.
I personally fall in the camp of not wanting to see an amendment passed, but not being upset if such an amendment did pass.

Step 7: Invest in China-based flag manufacturing company, sell more flags to flag waving patriots and flag burning commies

Grunfeld just left me an angry voicemail: "Thank you amateur armchair sports fans for telling me how to run a basketball team. I'll take that opinion super seriously!"

Trump (Idiot in Chief) speaks without an internal filter, so when he tweeted about a former Miss Universe winner at 3AM, he wasn't sitting down before-hand to review micro-data, he was just showing who he really is.
If Trump were actually smart enough to consider polling data, he wouldn't say 75% of what comes out of his mouth.

Someone earlier made the point that the tweets that come from an Android phone are his (the crazy ones) and the iPhone based tweets are his staff's. He should let his staff do the tweeting for him.

The flag burning issue has been a regular go-to for conservative politicians for 20 years now. It's an easy rhetorical win for conservatives. I can't believe anybody is making a big deal out of this.
