But wait, why weren’t right wingers crowing about the jobs numbers towards the end of Obama’s Presidency? You’d think they’d celebrate a successful President that’s getting the country back on track.

The GOP is not running on record employment and growth. They're running on the caravan and white identity politics. Look at the ad Fox News just stopped airing.

Trump himself does not want you focused on the economy because if we start talking about the economy, suddenly we're talking about tax cuts and after that - gasp - we're talking about healthcare, and then the GOP is really actually screwed.

Yup, yup and yup. That’s the one button they’ve got. Or at least, the one button they know how to push. It’s striking, just like how they continue to cling to reddit-level conspiracy theories despite controlling all three branches. Well, for a few more days, at least.

Early voting by Texans under the age of 30 has jumped 477 percent over 2014, a good sign Beto?

And there is the false narrative. Unemployment was already trending in the right direction before this administration. The economy was already humming along and this administration rightly wanted to turbocharge the economy.

But they compromised growth for debt when they didn't need to - they completely mismanaged the process with the personal tax cuts (they could have just kept it at business tax cuts). And let's not forget the elephant in the room - they have no plan for getting out of the healthcare quagmire that we are caught in.

Let's face it - this administration isn't very good.

So, for the record - it should be #RESISTFAKENEWS

He has it wrong. It isn't striking is that the recovery continues so long after it started. What is striking is the debt this administration needlessly incurred to keep the recovery going.

Tend to doubt it will be enough. GOP voting base is just too huge in Texas. IMO Cruz wins by 1-2 points

No STD is right, "95% of the carbon emissions are from 3rd world countries" and, as your chart indicates, 5% is from Mother Russia.

He is making the illogical arguement that because the rest of the world is destroying the planet we shouldn’t take steps to improve the way we do things here in America to make the whole planet cleaner. President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Agree, the media loves the story and is keeping the "close race" sorry angle afloat. 52-48 Cruz

Sadly I agree. It should be encouraging though for Texas Democrats if Beto loses by a small margin. Ted Cruz is a trash candidate so I don’t see him lasting another cycle.

for the record, China does care about the environment and is doing their damndest to invest in renewable and renewable research. Even if China's carbon emissions are double that of the U.S., they have 4x the population to generate electricity for. Look up how China's renewable energy generation compares to the U.S. They out-generate us in that respect by 2x as well.

A quick jaunt to even wikipedia will show you how seriously China is taking renewable energies. on top of that, they're graduating 5 million STEM majors a year. the narrative that the Chinese are math geniuses while at the same time technologically second-rate and unable to compete technologically with the U.S. is cognitatively dissonant. the Chinese (and Europeans) already are ahead of us technologically in many energy sectors, notably nuclear and solar. To further handicap ourselves because of "nationalistic" concerns is... it's f*cking dumb. it just is.

I agree on all points but China does not care about air quality to the level that they have regulated industry to the point where smog isnt a major issue in all of the major cities I visited there. A white shirt worn all day is not white at the end of the day. I see Smog in LA all the time and I was in Seattle this year when the ash descended upon the city...but all of those things are no where near as bad as i have seen in china. China may care about pollution, but they have not taken the steps we had to in the 80...not yet anyway.

i'll grant you that China's air quality is abysmal but in the context of current policy and impact on the future wrt energy policy going forward, it's intellectually lazy/dishonest to say "yeah but China" because:
1) 2 wrongs don't make a right
2) It's not even 2 wrongs bc China's taking their environmentalism more seriously than we are

Beto will have a tremendous affect down ballot... just staying close has kids energized and that is going to flip several of the races.
