19.7 pts

Fair enough.
An 18% drop in points -- but still at that extraordinary TS%.
Which means, I'd say, that even as a starter his numbers were well above average for an NBA Center.

As well, given your point about pick and roll guards, we'd probably have to look at who was on the floor w/ him in a bit more detail in order to understand the drop in his attempts. Might have more to do with that than whether he's playing against a starter or a backup.

In the end, however, I still think it's a non-issue: Gaff has shown that he is best used for 20 minutes a game. He starts to run out of gas. Presumably that also means that he's best used in shorter spurts.

In short, there is no problem to solve here! :)

Oh... this is too bad.

Probably most of his minutes will go to Barton -- but for sure we'll get to see some of Johnny Davis.

Doubtful. Barton will pick up the slack as you said, but Davis isn't getting any PT save for garbage time. Wright can play 2G in a pinch as well.

PG: Morris (28), Wright (20)
SG: Beal (36), Barton (12)
SF: Rui (28), Deni (16), Barton (4)
PF: Kuz (32), Rui (4), Deni (12)
C: KP (28), Gafford (20)

Taj & Gill are vets who will play when needed, while at the same time, happily sit idly and are prepared to play.

In any case, I like Kispert on the floor as a 3 rather than a 2.

Productivity-wise there is no doubt about it!
Again, Gafford has shown over time that he only has 20 excellent minutes a night in him.

Hope so!
I'm pretty sure I'm the biggest (or at least most vocal) Bryant fan on the board.

But, his situation is entirely about recovery. Physical recovery.
When he came back last year, he wasn't the same player he had been.

I'll be watching him -- & definitely rooting for him!

This year Gafford is a father or/and he got married. He’s put in work on his perimeter game AND ON IMPROVING HIS STAMINA,,,,

But some feel he’s always what he was …

I think he can be good thirty minutes a night.

Kispert to me is more of a 3&d sf but I hope Davis breaks out and gets some time.

This doesn't need to be this hard. If Gafford starts killing it as a backup, playing with great energy and not showing fatigue, while also nailing 17-footers in pick-and-pops, then we can have the conversation on whether he should start. But the data we have so far shows that Porzingis has been better than Gafford in a Wizards uniform. So Porzingis should be the starter.

Gafford is a solid role player and an above average rim protector.

KP has the potential to be an all-star, especially if he plays like he did at the end of last season.

No one wants to criticize Gafford -- why? Guy has been terrific.

For that matter, I wouldn't say that overall KP has put up better numbers than Gafford in a Wizards uniform, tho it may be that his versatility leads to better numbers for guys he's on the floor with. One could look into that.

In any case, given KP's injury history, we are more than likely to see some Gafford starts! So... nothing to argue about here.

With respect, the trade ideas are not for this particular thread. This thread is for the line-ups and rotations with our current roster.

For example, your point about Gafford playing more and with whom is material.

Who we should have drafted, not so much in this thread.
