Keep your eye on this, looks like it lists all the players the Wizards worked out this year. I think Hollis Thompson/Scott Machado/Darius Miller all have a good chance at being picked at #32 based off the guys they worked out.

BTW, been reading on Twitter that Sullinger won't be picked before #20. I really think at that point the Wizards would have to take a gamble. Risks outweigh the rewards by that point.

Sports Illustrated, Sam Amick: 1. Davis - 2. Robinson - 3. Beal.
CSN Washington, Ben Standig: 1. Davis - 2. Robinson - 3. Beal.

Not a lot of variation there.

So what you're saying is there's no chance we're gonna be able to get Beal? Great...

Kevin -- Out of curiosity, which players are the biggest "misses" in YODA -- meaning, ranked say, in the top 20 overall/ever, but ended up not being very good -- and why do you think that is?

Nivek, while I respect the work you do with stats and YODA, I think GMs and scouts would find YODA pretty useless because it doesn't seem to take into account a young man's potential, which is what a lot of drafting is based upon. There's simply no way Rivers wouldbe on any GMs "don't draft" category.

Quick first step, gets to the rim and free throw line, ultracompetitive, doc's pedigree, apparently a good work ethic. As raw as he may be and as bad as he played at times at Duke, Rivers' potential is just too obvious, imo, to be on anybody's don't draft list.

I'd be very cool with Miller at 32. Dude has a decent shot, is lengthy, and can defend.

Question: Who's all going to the Verizon Center tonight?

Is it all it's cracked up to be?

1. Why did we ever think a quasi-athletic guy with only a handful of great college games and an average shooting % was worthy of the #3 pick?
2. T Robinson was just another good but not great undersized PF
3. MKG was a jack of all trades, master of none. He's a good perimeter defender but this is the NBA & the superstars can't be guarded one on one
4. The best shooters were all in the 2nd round

I don't agree with all of the above but it's an interesting exercise to think 3-4 years in the future on these guys--it sobers you up from draft fever

No, it doesn't. Nothing sobers me up from draft fever. Absolutely nothing. And I can't stand it. I think I'm going to explode when Ernie sells that #2 pick for a little cash (after taking on $40+m of salary for hum-drum senior citizens). Stand out of the way!

I've been on this board what 3 weeks now? (btw, thanks doclinkin!) And I've written what 200+ posts. They are coming right now with the ambulance and the straitjacket. I have to stop them; I have to know whom we pick. I have to know that we made the wrong pick. Again. I... no no, they're wheeling me out. Stop them someone. Then stop me!!!

Edit to say "200+ posts" my a#@ -- this was my 300th post. I'm rising from ballboy to sophomore to junior -- some would say rising like a balloon full of gas but what do they know?

I think Mike Beasley is very high on that list.

That not a bad line of thinking. It would be a lot to give up to move up one slot but I dont think Crawford is slots to be here long term anyway. We would lose this dribbling ability which is good but we could be Beal which I really want.

Worth at least floating out there to confuse things more.

I would also gladly take Robinson at 3.

The only things I dont want is Carlton.

I don't want Carlton either. Who's Carlton?

Honestly, I'd be happy to give them Crawford and don't bother w/ swapping picks. He's useless. No, it's worse. He's destructive.

I really hope Cleveland moves up to 2 and takes Beal. I really want MKG. He is the youngest player in the draft. He would be the number one pick IF he could shoot. He was the heart of a championship Kentucky team at a very young age. He does EVERYTHING. Shooting can be taught, MKG's intangibles can't be put in a computer program or quantified. He is a gym rat. He wins everywhere he goes. He has superstar potential.

Also the Heat were able to win the championship DRIVING TO THE HOLE! We can get shooters. I was really on the Beal bandwagon, but I REALLY REALLY want MKG!

Not a fair question -- if GMs are wrong 100% of the time, and YODA is wrong only 75% of the time, what does it matter if YODA gets some picks wrong? At least it doesn't get them all wrong.

will there be a RealGM contingent at the draft party tonight or will
you all be at home with your laptops ready to wax pontific on whatever
happens?

I'll be there. Look for me and Jacqui in full Wizards regalia.

Lots of mocks have Quincy Miller falling to the bottom of the first round, if we could move up a few spots from 32 and come away with Beal and Miller to fill our holes at the 2/3 I'd be very happy.

I'll be at home, just trying to decide whether to get a Digorno pizza or grab a burger or two from Z-Burger.
