So 15,000 of the 96,000 patients in this study were actually treated with hydroxychloroquine. For those given hydroxychloroquine, there was a 34 percent increase in risk of mortality and a 137 percent increased risk of a serious heart arrhythmias. For those receiving hydroxychloroquine and an antibiotic — the cocktail endorsed by Trump — there was a 45 percent increased risk of death and a 411 percent increased risk of serious heart arrhythmias.

And this is like the 3rd test of it. I think it's fair to say, this test wouldn't have happened unless Trump kept on pushing for hydroxychloroquine. So he's at the very least indirectly responsible for the increased deaths and heart arrhythmias that happened to real people in that study. And because he continues to be a mark for it (as pro rasslin fans would call it), he continues to encourage more deaths.

Amazing that this isn't fiction.

Edit - I discussed this with my microbiologist friend. He pointed out the 96,000 volunteers - an enormous amount - could have been volunteering on testing other drugs that actually had a chance to work. Wasting 96,000 volunteers is something that could kill finding a good drug. It's such a f'ing horrible waste. And people died and had heart problems because of it... and nobody f'n gives a shyt.

Mate this is everything you need to know about Donald Trump and explains all his actions, not wanting to ramp up testing, rushing to open up the economy, not working with other countries.

Schwartz even went so far as to say, “The deaths — I know this is extreme — the deaths don’t matter to him. If it’s this decision between saving himself and saving others, it is no contest.”

He said Trump cares about opening the economy soon “not because he cares about the people who are being affected, but because he cares about their votes, and he believes, rightly or wrony, that people are going to be more concerned with going back to work than they are with protecting their lives.”

Wanna bet these are Trump supporters for the most part?

This pandemic has reinforced what I already believed (unfortunately): There's a large segment of the U.S. population that is selfish as ****.

I think people in general are just selfish and self centred. I’m not American, but the same thing happened where I live and there’s not a lot of support for Trump here. I read a good point about people having to live in their homes for years during world war 2 and they didn’t have Netflix! Now we can’t even do that for two months or at least act responsibly when we do go out..

And here's another subject that apparently falls below the evils of voting by mail. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/gayle-king-gets-emotional-over-125953224.html

The real news is this is a sickening problem. It'd be nice if the President of the US would address it... strongly... like he gives a damn. But he doesn't give a damn... obviously. How does this bleep still happen on any kind of regular basis? Trump is literally more concerned that every athlete stand up for the Star Spangled Banner than addressing this problem. And so are the people who vote for him.

I'm still shaking my head. How does an officer keep his foot on the guy's neck when he's called for an ambulance - telling them the guy is under medical duress... because the officer has his f'n foot on his throat? At that point, he KNOWS there's a reasonable chance he's killing the guy. And the other officer just stands there telling on-lookers to f off. That's at least manslaughter - by both officers. We'll see how this plays out, but it had better play out quickly and legitimately, and by quickly - I mean as fast as they've moved any case. How many more I can't breathe moments does it take to get people to give a damn?

Trump is racist. Not news. What's equally sad and equally true is the number of white
people who are in complete denial about this as well as their own racism. I guess
since 2016 (well actually it wasn't new then either) that's not really news either.

What is particularly encouraging about this is FL.

Trump will have a very hard time winning without FL as most of
you probably already know.

Edit to add - felons winning back the right to vote should also help in FL.
It’s so typical of the GOP to try to undo the people’s will in passing the
restoration of voting rights. Another example of the GOP being more interested in
power than in representative democracy.

An example of how crazy this is, MSN.com crammed 2 completely separate stories that both by themselves SHOULD each be enough to impeach Trump into one article https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-pushes-a-conspiracy-theory-and-falsely-accuses-a-tv-host-of-murder/ar-BB14CAEr?li=BBnb7Kz

Wtf? This is so ridiculous. Why does he even get 5% of the vote in these poles? This is part of the legacy of our generation. We're all a part of the shythole generation.

Okay, so I have to say, this kind of just breaks my heart. I see it roll to 100K but see three days of under 1K and then back to 1500.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

And then this... so we are probably closer to 150K. Add to that it looks like there is going to be a percentage (greater than those that died) that have life altering changes coming out. This really feels a bit like a war.

yeah you really have to look at excess deaths over time compared to historical averages.

When you do that, the number is probably 50-100% higher than reported.

I 'get' quarantine fatigue but some people are just determined to be stupid.
Thinking of the pool in MO or AR wherever it was and the bar in Austin.
What are these people thinking? Answer-
We've really got a population of people who just don't think very well.

Playing devil's advocate, reported strokes have gone down, and a lot of the deaths were from old people in nursing homes - people that would have had a low projected life-span. Personally, I think these things offset the additional deaths from pneumonia, but 100,000 deaths and counting is obviously nothing to sneeze at - and what people need to remember is that it'd be MUCH higher if we hadn't shut down and quarantined and did the social distancing. But so many people aren't considering that. And yes, they're stupid. We need to open things up, but do it smartly. Going from 0 to 60 in 1 second is going to blow your engine.

so at what point do you think the GOP figured out that COVID would kill mainly Democrats and decided to just go ahead and deliberately bungle the response so as many Democrats as possible would die?

Trump just said the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat. Well, he retweeted someone who said that. Sounds like an endorsement to me.

And Lindsey Graham comes through again - trying to get judges to retire now so that the Republican President and Senate can confirm Republican judges. One thing that used to be recognized is that judges should not make decisions based on politics. Graham is blatantly encouraging them to make decisions based on politics. Btw, he's also showing no confidence in Republicans winning elections.
