Ruz et al, we will have to agree to disagree. I find many who agree with my opinion. If you look today on the gen board you'll see a ton who do. And I find your statement, to me, ridiculous. LeBron has the passing ability and vision of Kareem? Duncan? Malone? I could go on. I just fundamentally disagree.

As I said, I'd put LeBron in the top twenty. But, he has a ceiling because of his vision, cleverness and character.

Lebron's athleticism and basketball skill are on par with Jordan. However his mental toughness isn't even in the same zip code as guys like Jordan/Bird/Magic and it sticks out like a sore thumb in the playoffs.

Lebron is a frontrunner. When he faces adversity he can't handle it. When Jordan/Bird/Magic faced adversity they tried to take that much more on their shoulders. They WANTED the burden to be on them. Lebron definitely doesn't which is why he went to Miami in the first place.

Remember, Bird and Magic had phenominal teammates. Jordan had a situation somewhat similar to Lebron's - with Pippen and generally a high quality 3rd guy - like Horace Grant, Kukoc, Rodman. No doubt - Jordan was the more competitive of the 2 and was amazing in the playoffs, so certainly Jordan is ahead of him in the grand hierarchy, but he and Chamberlain (imo) were the 2 greatest players of all time. But after them, it's all about preference and opinions and what Lebron accomplishes in the rest of his career.

Yeah, this is one of those conversations to revisit (and I'm sure we will) in a few years. If Lebron has 1-2 championships, he almost certainly would rank below the Jordan, Magic, Bird pantheon. If he has 5-6 championships...

Wait

When did he put King James on his jersey ?

A little digging and it looks like its been since January ?

No No No Lebron. It took you so long to get out of the LeDouche box. Don't wear King James on your jersey. :nonono:

Maybe he'll produce a new translation of the Holy Bible, updated with "crab dribble" and "the counterfeit meek shall inherit two FTs"

The deep draft that just keeps giving.

Gorgui Dieng starting to do a little something as well.

Maybe not the big names at the top, but lots of basketball players.

Thats the kind of block at the end of the game that says... I'm not 23 anymore.
LeBron will be 30 in December.

1 - That's a travel.
2 - The Heat and Nets were wearing "nickname" jerseys in a lame effort to increase jersey sales. Note Plumlee's jersey says "Plums".
3 - Good on Plums to go for that block. Watching Lebron's reaction to it was almost better than the block itself.

If that's a travel then every NBA player travels on virtually every drive to the basket or three point shot.

I mean, I agree it's a travel, but if they don't call it, it's not a travel, you know? It's not like the crab dribble which was four steps. This was only three steps. Ugh. LISTEN TO ME!!! I HATE MYSELF!!!! Just call the travel like it's supposed to be called, God!

While we're at it can we go back to calling blocking fouls if the DEFENDER'S FEET ARE FRICKING MOVING???? WHAT THE HELL????

He's receiving the pass, so I don't think it's a travel.

LeBron still complains a lot though

seems to me like he took 4 steps and then slid his left foot after that.
I'd call it a travel. Maybe we shouldn't have dissed the Plumlees back before
the draft last year.

In no basketball game I've ever seen would any player get called for a travel on that play. He catches the ball with a foot on the ground. That's not a step. Then he does a staggered jump stop (one foot lands, then the other) and launches into the dunk attempt. At most, it's two steps. At full speed, that staggered jump stop looks virtually simultaneous, in which case it's not even two steps.

I wouldn't have called a foul on Plumlee on that play, although he did hit Lebron's hand.

If you wanted to get all ticky-tacky, the refs coulda called Joe Johnson for the reach-in. But I wouldn't have called that either.

I think the refs got that one right all the way around.

Looks like LeDouche will be back at the VC for some playoff basketball. The Heat just slipped to second.
