I'm really appreciating Ray Allen.

Here's a fantastic piece by Jackie MacMullen: http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nba/co ... id=6106450

He's a bit of a nut, for sure. but I'm inspired by his belief that failing to prepare -- including diet, sleep, training -- amounts to letting down his teammates. If only more of our guys thought that way!

On the plus side, had the Wizards kept Jamison and Arenas and resigned Haywood, they would have had three contracts on this list, rather than two. Further, Simmons has Lewis as the 2nd worst contract at 4 years and 80+ million remaining, rather than 3 years at 62 million (with a possible early termination), although at a glance it looks like he's updated everyone else. Sloppy.

Maybe Blatche is out Villanueva?

I've made significant investment (stock purchases) in a penny
stock. Company is Vu 1 corp (ticker = vuoc). They are about to begin delivery
of a completely new technology light bulb (ESL). As efficient as
a CFL but no Mercury, high quality light, dimmable with
standard dimmers and instant on. If it hits, I'll be sitting
VERY well since almost all of the investment I've made is
in my Roth so I'll pay no taxes on whatever gain may or may
not happen. Do your own due diligence.

A high risk stock like that is probably better in a taxable account. For a ROTH you won't get any benefit if it goes to 0. On the other hand if you get a ton of appreciation, you can't take advantage of the lower capital gains rate. ROTHs are a great place for income producers like corporate bonds and REITs.

If I lose, I lose. Or in the parlance of the day, so be it. But if it does hit,
there is no better place than a roth to my understanding. It's completely
tax free. If it were in a taxable account, I'd pay 15% right?

Blatche at 7 million a season is one of the first contracts in the NBA is laughable. Although I have him at under 4 million for 3 years on a 60 million hard cap in XOhoops

I can't believe I'm typing this but...

GILBERT ARENAS SUCKS!

He's awful. Anyone had a look at what he's done in Orlando? He's shooting 34% from the field, 24% on 3-pointers and is now hitting only 69% of his free throws. He's now playing only 21 minutes per game. He's hit 27% of his shots in February.

Next time you feel like complaining about Rashard Lewis, consider that it could be worse.

Yeah or we can just consider Gilbert's #'s as a Wizard VS. Ra$hart's #'s as a Wizard. You cannot expect Gilbert to put up good #'s in a situation he has never shown to be comfortable in.

Just because Gilbert is playing worse for the Magic doesn't make Ra$hart any better. But if it helps you sleep at night, be my guest. Keep **** on the only guy to make this franchise relevant in 3 decades.

Did you even look at what Ra$hart has been putting in the stat sheet lately? Please. 3pts, 0pts, 1pt. Wow, color me impressed.

Looks he deleted all of it. He's such an idiot, every athlete on twitter gets heckled and the hecklers get blocked.

Maybe that's why the coaching staff has completely given up on trying to enforce rules on him. He's just a thin skinned loser.

Well, I think the Magic expected Gilbert to put up pretty big numbers -- much better numbers than he has put up so far, at the very least.

AceDegenerate wrote:Just because Gilbert is playing worse for the Magic doesn't make Ra$hart any better.
That's true.

AceDegenerate wrote:But if it helps you sleep at night, be my guest.

Nothing that happens in the NBA helps me sleep or keeps me up at night. I'm a fan, not a nutcase.

AceDegenerate wrote:Keep **** on the only guy to make this franchise relevant in 3 decades.

Since this is the first time I've ever really attacked Gilbert -- once my favorite DC player of all time -- I don't feel too bad about what I've written.

AceDegenerate wrote:Did you even look at what Ra$hart has been putting in the stat sheet lately? Please. 3pts, 0pts, 1pt. Wow, color me impressed.

Yes, I did look at Lewis' numbers lately. Gilbert's, too. It's not a matter of being impressed with Lewis, who is a pretty average player right now. [And hugely overpaid, of course.] The fact remains that Lewis' numbers with the Wizards are actually slightly better than his numbers with Orlando this season. His scoring is unchanged -- 12.2 to 12.3 ppg -- and his rebounding is up, as is his shooting percentage.

What's notable is how terribly Arenas is playing in Orlando. His scoring has dropped 10 points per game and his shooting has gone from bad [39% in DC] to unspeakable [34% in Orlando]. And it goes without saying that his defense has not improved. I suspect the Magic hoped Gil would at least make Jameer Nelson play better to keep his starting job. In fact, Gil has been so awful that Nelson's job has never been in jeopardy.

I really don't see how any of this is even controversial. Gilbert was the best player the Bullets/Wizards franchise has had since, at the very least, Bernard King was putting up 28 ppg. He's just terrible right now. That's just how it is. Doesn't bother me if you want to shoot the messenger, though. Your shot has a better chance of going in than what Gil's been throwing up lately.
