Why would the Bucks (or the Jiffy Lube for that matter) want Yi back. They had two full seasons of witnessing his one fundamental flaw... i.e. he is not good at basketball.

Because salaries have to line up, and Yi's expiring contract is the best (and only, really) way to make that happen.

Wizards need to trade Flip Saunders for another coach not named Ed Tapscott.

You mean keep Irving and try to find another guy somehow, or trade Irving for another guy?

My initial thought was that Irving (like Wall last year) will be the consensus #1 pick, andhave the most trade-value of anyone going top-10 next year. We may have a small, but legit shot at being able trade a top-3 pick (Irving) for a solid big or SF to a team desparately needing a PG or future franchise PG. Irving for Cousin's perhaps?

Although we are building through youth, I would be open to trading next-years pick for a key building-piece. With a new coach and one more solid addition to the team, we continue to build while also being a playoff team.

If Irving is a consensus number one pick and we somehow win the lottery again, we better get a lot more than cousins or a sf (none are coming to mind).

Nate as you know I've been making hinrich trades like crazy, I just always assumed Yi and Thorton would be off the table.

As far as the trade goes the bucks easily accept and than hopefully find a third team with a back up center for yi and thorton

I'm wit ya. I don't think he's definitely #1, but he's in the top tier and likely makes our pick more valuable. If he's the BPA when we pick, trade the pick rather than settling for the next best player. He could play with Wall, but it wouldn't be ideal synergy.

Edit - Irving got injured in the Butler game, and an AP report quotes Coach K saying he could be out for the season.

The scary thing is - Duke still might be the best team in the nation without him.

Or what about the unthinkable - keep the pick, draft that PG that's coming out, and trading Blatche+Wall for Love+Johnson? I'm sure the Gil lovers would be all over that.

What do people think about trading Nick Young for Brandon Bass? Bass is six months younger than Young. He duplicates Seraphin, but is further along in the development process.

Even if you took out Johnson, there's pretty much zero chance Minny does that. I think Love is pretty much untouchable.

I wouldn't deal Young because of the way he's playing, but I've posted Bass trade ideas before (only to be flamed, of course). Pietrus is the other guy on Orlando's roster that I woudn't mind picking up (I've previously wanted to acquire Gortat, but that was before McGee's performance so far this season).

Yi+Thornton+minimum contract for Bass+Pietrus? Saves Orlando almost $20M in salary and tax next season (assuming there still is a tax) and gives us beef plus a defensive/shooting SF while only reducing our 2012 cap space by $4M.

Damn, sucks about Irving being done for the year possibly, he was our #1 trade chip :-)

Love is untouchable, but there should be some other guys who are not. Our top-3 pick combined with Hinny's expiring might net us a quality starter. We need to re-examine this as the college hoops season winds-down.

If i remember right he is a lame rebounder.
