Too much gray.

Assuming it's black and white houndstooth, eh? Although gray shirt might look good, I'd go with white shirt, black shoes (do not wear brown shoes w/ that outfit). If you must wear a tie, there's where to bring it. Oxblood would be great, or a metallic blue, any deep rich color, but probably avoid pastels (though turquoise might look cool).

Well he was gonna wear gray slacks, gray shirt, gray tie. Too much gray. I'd go with the brown shoes, personally, especially if they are dark brown. I'd keep the gray slacks though. It's a wedding, not a wake you know what I mean? Liven things up a bit.

I like brown shoes, but I have lots of green and brown and such to wear it with. I don't like brown with gray, but that's a personal deal, trauma from childhood and such. You could always go with gray and black and houndstooth everywhere but the shirt (even the tie, though yeah it could still be too much gray), and get a deep rich color for the shirt. Don't know how formal the wedding is, and I hate to wear ties and only do when it will just look too too if I don't.

Perhaps there should be a fashion thread. It could be chock full of trends, advice, and retrospectives of all-time NBA stylers like Wilt, Clyde, Van Lier, Sprewell, etc.

Fashion? I know little about this, but I did just get my first real work clothes (until now I had been using, when needed a suit I bought in early high school -- my body is the same 10 years later). I start working for the foreign service later this month and was visiting shanghai, so I went to a hong kong custom tailor's shop there. It was expensive (although very good value for the quality), but it's an amazing feeling putting on something that fits that well...

Speaking of fashions, I just started growing out my goatee. It's bright red and curly. I noticed a lot of people at work who have facial hair keeps theirs tightly trimmed. Why is that? I want to grow mine out and put like little bands around it, like Dumbledore does. Would that be work appropriate?

I always liked that Frazier photo. It's got the bridge and the NYC skyline. It's got the cool threads and the classy car. It's got the dumpy parking lot in Brooklyn. It's got it all.

Stopped on the way home at the ABC store and got me a sweet virgin bottle of Grey Goose. Got home and opened the back door and KABOOOOSH.....

Such a beautiful young life wasted right when it was going to bring so much happiness to so many people....well ok, me. I'm in tears right now. The only thing keeping me going is that the Patron survived the carnage. Got it on ice to keep any swelling down.

^ Ouch! That happened to me last summer with a 6-pack of beer. It was Miller Chill with the hint of lime and I also had all the fixins for homemade tacos. It was gonna be a Tex-Mex kind of day. But, when I opened my rear door to get the bags out, the bag with the beer came tumbling out and every bottle shattered on the parking lot pavement. So not only was I not having beer with my tacos, but had to spend 20 minutes picking up every tiny shard of glass so nobody would get a flat tire. Not the ideal way to spend a summer Saturday.

But yeah, losing the Goose hurts more.

I feel your pain. I once lost a keg of Guinness over a cliff in the Himalayas. It burst open on impact and made a long, sad splotch against the ice far below. The Sherpa guide laughed at me for being so stupid as to carry it up there in the first place. Anyway, you can still see the splotch on Google Maps.

Ditto. Also, so nice to go to a beach and see it covered in discarded cigarette butts. Smoking outdoors = littering almost all the time.

I don't drink so dropping glass booze bottles doesn't affect me. I can see how it would suck, though.

What a f'ing earthquake (I'm in Tokyo). Was on a subway train waiting at the station and it was swaying like crazy. Above ground big cracks and water spewing out of the ground. It was especially bad because the area I was on was build over a landfill.

But where I used to live was hit the hardest. Man. That makes the third deadly earthquake I've been in in the last 3 years.

Glad to hear you're okay. My Japanese friends are all in the Tokyo area.

Many reports but not much clear information. Glad you're OK. Keep checking in with info.
