I'd say a year or so of revenue from all sales of Colorado's legal weed. What's that, like $2 billion a year?

And how much of that were you personally smoking when you typed this? Or is it cumulative damage from a lifetime's heavy input.

1st: No
2nd: No, nope
3rd: yougottabekiddingme
4th: Picks --worthless with Jokic Murray and Beal

So, no. I'm sticking with The Weed money, plus a time machine to jump back and force your GM to reconsider his rejection of our front office job. Though GM Tommy has been alright so far.

NBA Trades to Further Shake Up East, West Power Balances

Bradley Beal and Ish Smith for Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown and Picks

Bradley Beal is the player who can do the most to shift the power balance in the NBA.

"League sources say that Beal isn't currently available, though that could change by the deadline," The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor wrote.

And if that does change, several teams, including the Boston Celtics, should dive headfirst into the mix.

"Few teams can match the type of package Boston could put together," The Athletic's Jordan Brenner wrote in June. "One league source suggested that Washington would need to strongly consider an offer of Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart and a protected pick for Beal or that Boston could offer Smart, Jaylen Brown and two future first-rounders as an alternative trade."

At the time, those possibilities were contemplated with the understanding that Boston may have a little cap space to work with in the event Kyrie Irving left. He did leave, but that space was instead spent on Kemba Walker.

Now, the Celtics may have to throw a bigger deal into the mix to make salaries match. The same general framework of the deal built around Smart and Brown would work if No. 14 pick Romeo Langford were included. But Gordon Hayward's $32.7 million salary could make things easier.

If Hayward were to pick up his player option for the 2020-21 season, this deal wouldn't save Washington any money, but the Wizards would at least come out of it with a promising young player and multiple picks. That should be preferable to losing Beal for nothing.

Again, Washington has some time before it should feel any such pressure, but Boston is in position to pounce if that changes.

And if the Celtics could hang onto Tatum and Smart, they'd have some intriguing small-ball lineups at their disposal. Walker, Beal, Smart and Tatum lining up 1 through 4 would give the team loads of switchability, shooting and playmaking.

That first trade is an awful awful awful trade. First, I can't imagine picking up a high-risk contract like Hayward's when we already have the highest risk contract in the NBA. Second, Brown's going to be a free agent, and he's coming off a very meh season. He has next to no trade value.

And the second trade doesn't make sense for either team. Boston has basically nothing at forward other than Tatum, and they seem to think he's going to be a star. How will they compete with no frontcourt? I don't think he'll be a star, because he showed no improvement last season. Smart's a very bad contract and his shot makes him a an overall liability, imo. A protected pick... seriously?

Boston is no longer a good trade partner.

Yup. A Boston deal would have to start with Tatum plus the Memphis pick. Anything else is a non-starter.

I don’t see any team except Pelicans who would trade with directly. NAW, 4 first rounders and a 2nd in 2021. We would have to take on Moore and Favors for rest of season. Other than that would need to look at bringing in a third team. We missed the hot market and have to hope for a desperate team to emerge during season, which should happen.

If nothing materializes this season then Ben Simmons, who I personally don’t want, comes into play.

It’s hard for me to believe Brad has not expressed, quietly, his preference is to be traded. And waiting until next season does not seem to be in best interest of all involved.

I think Denver could put together a pretty competitive package as well, particularly if Michael Porter Jr. is as promising as all they hype suggests.

If Brad has indeed expressed quiet interest in being traded, it's hard for me to believe that the team isn't shopping him for the best available offer. The fact that they are immediately shutting down any trade talk suggests to me that Beal absolutely has NOT requested a trade.

Maybe that will change going forward, but for now, I think it's very likely that Beal has honest interest in staying.

Because if he makes All-NBA this year, he can sign a supermax extension for 35% of the cap, rather than a mere 30% extension.

I was wondering, but that makes perfect sense. May be hard to make 1st team All-NBA but not impossible, he has the talent. Know it would be hard to turn down $37MM a year if it was put in my face but I get it now.

He only has to make any of the All-NBA teams, not even 1st team. If you're Beal and you have gotten all this press and profile bump from trade interest etc, you have to like your chances of being voted one of the top 6 guards in the league.

BUMP FOR GOLDEN STATE FANS. Post here where you can safely troll and be insulted in turn.

Calling Avdija filler is trolling.

Hopefully he won't be a draft mistake like Jan Vesely.. ouch. LOL. But, I think you guys are really over-valuing Beal. He's got his shots and numbers because who else do you guys have besides the inefficient Westbrick? Your guys' team is bottom 10 in offensive rating. He's essentially balling right now like A.I. or even Monta Ellis because there's not enough collective talent to help the team.

By all means tell us how much we need our former bust Kelly Oubre, and your early bust of a #2 draft pick in exchange for the top scorer on the Durant team in the All stars. Please tell us how it will help this squad that has won 7 of the last 10 and is frustratingly seeming to find its stride while the fanbase is frustrated that our chances of a top 4 lotto pick are getting more slim. Yes Wiseman and Wave Papi will help with that part, no doubt. What else ya got?

It does seem unfair that GMs can trade players anywhere they want, yet players -- who are obviously more important to the game than GMs -- can't turn the tables on them.

I suggest that there should be two weeks a year in which the players on any team can negotiate a deal with the players on any other team to swap GMs -- even whole FOs. & above all coaches.

Plus, it seems to me that in addition to the All-Star Game, there should be an "All-Stump Game" pitting the Western Conference owners against the Eastern Conference owners.

Adonal. Gotta say that I love that you are posting here. Even ridiculous trade ideas gives us something to read, ponder and debate.

And, let me just say that I fart in your general direction.

Amazing that GS fans still come up with trade ideas where Oubre goes back to Washington. He hasn't changed at all since he left here. He didn't seem happy here, and the feeling was mutual, so... of course it makes sense to trade him back to DC! Actually, it's not bad considering McDonalds gives Adonal only 5 minute breaks.

Haven't read any good trolling in a while. Did see this on the Trade board:

Skybox wrote:Not sure how Avidja even fits here...the other two (Jordan Poole and Davion Mitchell) are out of his class....

Poole is a shooter, it's a skill and not one that either Mitchell or Avdija has shown. On the other hand, Mitchell and Avdija have both shown flashes of outstanding defense which I haven't seen from Poole.

I will say that Deni has shown as much as Davion Mitchell . . . even more impressive defense, better playmaking relative to the position he plays (combo forward v. small guard). And, Deni is almost 3 years YOUNGER than Mitchell. The idea that Davion Mitchell is out of Deni's class is just silly; Avdija is clearly the better prospect.

This thread died because the Wizards aren't even worth trolling. You'd have to be an extremely cruel person to take time out of your day to make fun of a Wizards fan. Like pushing someone in a wheelchair down a flight of stairs.
