Listen I'm a member of several fan based and engaged with those on social media and other message boards.
NFL, Pro Wrestling, Star Wars, War Hammer, MMA, Anime, Comics.
I have never in all my days as a fan of anything seen such reverse Cope lol. This is wild.
Look is deny a good young player. Yes. Should we have kept him yes. Could he have been part of the rebuild, yes.
Is he or was he putting up all star numbers, no. He was a young, promising starter with flaws here. Yes he's continued to look good. But his numbers aren't much better than they were and some are actually worse efficiency wise.
I wish we had traded Kuz and kept Deni. Obviously.
I wish we had traded kispert and kept Deni. Obviously.
I wish we had traded either of them for a pick that could have still been bub. Cuz I really like bub.
But to pretend that we didn't get a good trade out of a marginal starter is silly. Just because he was 23 and still improving doesn't make the guy untouchable. He was and still is who he's always been. 2 FRP 2 second round picks is a pretty large resource dump even for a 23 year old starter and Brogdon when healthy is a valuable player. We still might get something for him let's see how that plays out. But this oh god WD is terrible what an awful trade the wiz are a joke **** this team god what a bunch of idiots worst gm in history btlring EG back type posts is just silly stupid and obnoxious and at the very least short sighted.
You're allowed to not like the trade and wish it was different and not **** on it and not be delusional at the same time.

Some gold metal olympic gymnastics right here. lol. Your a member of the dawkins cult. Your just a front runner running his mouth. Deni is an all star hes clearly better than Jokic and Durant and Lebron. I do get a good deal of satisfaction thinking about you running your mouth. It'll be fun to continue to watch you try to save face.

It’s fortunate for us because we actually needed him in our growth curve, wish you guys the best luck with any return for Malcolm plus that pick you still have.
It very well could still work out well, but only time will tell.
So far, we have 939 posts, and 47 pages on this trade, and going strong. Some liked it because we got a lot back, but others, including me, hated it. Deni was one of the few reasons to watch the Wizards. Now, a lot of Wizards/Deni fans are watching the Portland games.
Yep. There are 3 parts to evaluate a trade. The quantitative aspects, qualitative aspects and the enabling aspects.
Quantitatively did the trade help our cap situation - meh, not really. Deni was on a really good contract.
Qualitatively did it engage the fan base and help with fan loyalty? I would say, no. But, maybe some see this as a yes - that Deni wasn't really a fan favorite.
And the enabling aspect is were the picks worth it for Deni, could we have received more for Deni in the future (as he improved with his great contract) and would he have been a valuable asset in helping the youngsters learn how to play and actually play.
I can understand debating the third aspect of the trade. But as a whole - smh. Aggregating this with the Kuz & Kispert signings and it becomes even more puzzling.
That isn't to say we aren't going in the right direction. We have started the rebuild - a much better place (IMO) than the previous two FOs. I just don't think that parts of the strategy have been executed that well... now we need luck instead of just skill to move the needle.

Look... you do realize that you are the one who started ridiculing other posters & calling them names, right?
& that it's been mentioned a number of times with requests that you stop doing it?
It would be really great if you could climb down off the high horse, & we could simply back out of this kind of discourse.
Nt great that AFM is giving you back what you've been giving -- but not a big surprise either.
It's a treat to watch Deni bloom in Portland. &, w/o a doubt, if he'd played at this level last year we would have gotten even more for him than we did. Or maybe we wouldn't have traded him -- who knows?
In any case, it's great to be positive about the kid. That's a good thing not a problem.

But PIF, I'm really kinda enjoying the ride right now on this long-legged, almost mythical in its foresight Shadowfax steed I'm on.
Maybe I ease down to a Triple Crown like steed first before potentially stepping my proverbial feet back on the ground?
Deal?

He's still better than rookie Deni.
https://stathead.com/tiny/baWph
Since you've been away here's the recap of the stats: For a kid he's been good. The roster is trash. But mostly because they are starting rooks against vets. And the vets we have aren't enough to carry it. Bub's Ast/TO ratio is remarkable for a rookie who has nobody to pass to. Especially considering our primary scorer is a dribble dribble shoot guy, erasing a chance for an assist on that possession. Yes, a rookie is not as good as a veteran. No surprise. But markers are there for the kid to have a good career. Stick around and find out, its not like you're going anywhere as a fan

By the way Ji, any more big weather events expected this season?

It's all good PIF--I probably owe him and few others on this board an apology anyhow (they aren't gonna get it, let me be clear).
Anyway, what else are we gonna do besides irritate each other? I can hardly be bothered to watch the games at all anymore. And if Deni is his favorite player, yeah I'd be pissed too. Maybe we'll have something to talk about once this trade deadline hits...

The frustrating thing for me is that we FINALLY hit on a draft pick outside the top 3. We went through the growing pains, we watched him develop and break out, then we got rid of him.
Meanwhile Kuzma/Kispert are still here. It is like they are just pissing on the season ticket holders.

Thank God we didn't draft the Fat Matador.

I also second the notion of Deni dropping career highs all over this pathetic Wizards team. That would make my season.

We have Bub Carrington, who I think is not as good as Jakobi Gillespie, and in 2029, we get another FRP. What are the odds that either second round pick turns out to be a good player?nate33 wrote:I was stuck in a hotel while traveling last night so I got to watch the whole game. Deni was amazing. AFM, I have to say that I don't condom Cut's cusses, but you're behavior is pretty lame. You jumped the gun way too early.
Adjusting to a new situation is not easy for everyone and the war in Israel is not something to make fun of.
Just take the L, you were quick to judge, and it backfired.
I'm going to say this.
Cooper flag is the goal. With Deni, its harder to achieve.
The trade makes sense, but this is the problem with the NBA and "American culture" in general, there is no "soul".
Deni is a player worth watching games for, at least in my opinion and blazers fans feel the same way.
Deni is from my hometown and I might be biased, yet I do think the price was pretty high, but still, it hurts a lot for fans who enjoyed the energy he brings. The wizards are complete trash and unwatchable. Kuz and Poole are so bad and selfish, just listening to them talk makes my ears hurt. Glad for Deni that he is out of this mess of a team, but I'm really sad for you. I see no hope...

I wasn't making fun of Israel--you are missing a lot of context. Badinage said his poor play was due to Israel bombing Iran. Thanks for chiming in though.

I think the only way I'd view this trade as bad is if there was clear evidence that the new FO traded Deni because he was Israeli. Which there is no evidence for. Maybe if Deni made an all-star or all nbd this season I could say ****. But that's not gonna happen.
