Looks like the Ravens just scooped up a center. Missed opportunity for us? :(

He was an option. But, we drafted a center, we have options but a vet would have been nice

Didn't that center have an injury that typically takes a year to recover from and his happened in December?

Yeah it was an Achilles injury first week of December and he's reportedly been "medically cleared" which I assume means he can participate in camp. If he ends up starting the year on the PUP list and debuts in October, that would put him at 10 months. For a guy who was a starter at a position of need and is on a cheap 1-year deal, it might have been worth taking a flier.

I've been around long enough to know not to trust training camp reports but they're saying the defense looks both bigger and faster. Could also mean that the offense doesn't look great.

I will be shocked if we don't add some stuff like a WR like Diggs or someone else and another CB with injuries already showing up.

I just dont know why we haven't just singed the diggs brothers yet they wanna be here we need a starting wr and we need CB depth.

I do expect this defense to be the best one we’ve had in years. Daronte is a great coach and I expect our defense to have a real mean streak too and play nasty. Gonna take a few games for it to all gel but I think this is the start of something great. Still some work to do with the secondary and interior line but the LBs which have been the weakness for years will soon become the strength.

Yeah the D should be solid. I mean so much investment there in FA and in the draft the past two years.

They better go get Diggs before he signs somewhere else. They have the cap space and he would make their WR room actually decent without counting on a breakout from one of their young guys or retreads.

That's been an obvious move for a while, interesting to wonder why it hasn't happened yet. Maybe Diggs just wants to skip camp at his age? Or maybe the team has a target on another team and they're waiting to see how it plays out. Ironic given we're talking about Diggs, but the Pats have a packed WR room:

Brown, Doubs and Douglas were the three receivers quarterback Drake Maye mentioned Friday when he shared how he balances throwing to Brown often while also spreading the wealth to others. He also included tight end Hunter Henry and running backs Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson in his answer about how the Patriots' attack can put stress on a defense.

But Boutte was arguably the offense's best player through the first three practices, making big plays down the field each day. He has quieted in recent days, in part because he isn't receiving a lot of repetitions.

If Boutte becomes available for a fair price, we should consider getting in on that (pause...)

If Amos is healthy, the CB group will be significantly stronger this season than last. The talent and speed on defense has been upgraded.
