Heres the quote regarding his diet:

"Q: How has your diet changed over the years? JOHN WALL: It's changed a lot since my first year in the NBA. I used to eat fast food and burgers and stuff like that. I didn't put on weight during the season, but after the season was over, I could feel it coming. Now I eat salads, fruit, salmon, healthy things. I don't eat fast food anymore. And I don't eat ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, pickles. I don't like sausage. I'm a different breed. Via ESPN."

...why would you?

Like if you had a one night stand with him and he woke up first to sneak out, but you open one eye lid and pretend to be sleeping while he carefully puts his pants on so as not to disturb you.

Don't know what he meant by the last sentence, but if it makes him feel more confident, it sounds good to me.

But no pickles... I can't condone that.

I was just cruising the draft express measurement database and was noticing how long Wall is. He is a freak for a PG. His wingspan and standing reach are both better than or equal to those of: Oladipo, McLemore, Beal, and Glen Rice Jr.

Great interview with John from a few weeks ago, before his trip to China:

http://allball.blogs.nba.com/2013/07/05 ... john-wall/

Favorite question/answer sequence:

ME: And then what about yourself? What part of your game are you working on this summer?

WALL: I’m working on jump shots. I think my midrange got a lot better when I got confidence. I’m knocking down threes off the dribble, catch-and-shoot. And especially my floater. Just trying to keep improving everything.

Late Friday afternoon mind wondering. Now that Dwight's leaving LA they'll basically have no one under contract after this coming season. They'll be looking for a new star and it wouldn't surprise me if they have their eye on Wall. Not only that, but Wall lives in LA and has publicly stated his interest in being in films. What are the odds Wall doesn't sign an extention this off-season and the Lakers pursue him as a RFA, in which, Wall forces the Wiz to trade him to LA. Not out of the realm of possibility.

I guess my concern is that now that Dwight's gone the narative for the next season will be "how do the Lakers rebuild?" or "who will be the Lakers new star?" Without a doubt Wall will get linked to the Lakers if he's a pending free agent, even he's an RFA. Media speculation may lead to Wall interest, Wall interest may lead to Wall trade demand. I say sign the man and don't even give the Lakers hope.

Who cares that he lives in LA, half the league does.

Did you read the article I posted? Did you not see how often in that interview he stated how much he relishedthe opportunity to be a leader for our team and how excited he is about our prospects going forward? My god man get a grip, we aren't Cleveland. We play in a major market, a market that he was thrilled to join when we drafted him and he's repeated that stance myriad times since.* The team is on the uptick, his relationship with the players on the roster, especially Brad appears to be strengthening, this club is perfectly situated to have a Rockets/Warriors type offseason next year, he clearly enjoys the night life here as I see him out very frequently whenever he's in town, he has major endorsement deals with Addidas, Redbull et al. before he's even reached an allstar game etc. There is no need to concern yourself with the possiblity of Wall going anywhere for the foreseeable future. None.

*But this is a business and you have to deal with the stuff that comes with it and goes with it. I leave that up to those guys, but I love playing for D.C. I love this team, my staff, my teammates.”

http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013 ... on-wizards

He actually had a quote in an old Post article from four or five months ago where he literally said that DC was the perfect market for him but I can't find it. He literally said perfect.

Yeah I can remember that John had a 6'9 wingspan off the top of my head because it's such an astonishing number.

John also probably grew a little after coming into the league. The team said he was still growing during his rookie season. He definitely got heavier and stronger.

He's easily the most physically gifted PG in the league and is probably in the top five pound for pound most gifted players league wide. People know he's fast. But I don't think they realize how big and strong he is, or that he's faster than Rose and Westbrook and Parker and Paul, maybe faster than Ty Lawson, and bigger than all of them. And he's nearly as good a leaper as Rose.

John is bigger and stronger than Westbrook. If Westbrook's 85 kg listing is to be believed, and John's claim he's gotten up to 210 ish is to be believed, that's a 20 pound difference.

Physically, he's the LeBron of the PG position.

John is an RFA next year. The Lakers can't force us to trade him. We can simply match whatever they can offer, and their offer can't beat our own. John will be hear for at least the next six years if we want him.

Also, Laker prestige isn't what it used to be, clearly. That franchise is a mess now.

Don't tell a Laker fan that.

http://www.bulletsforever.com/2013/7/6/ ... he-dribble

I’m working on jump shots. I think my midrange got a lot better when I got confidence. I’m knocking down threes off the dribble, catch-and-shoot. And especially my floater. Just trying to keep improving everything.

http://allball.blogs.nba.com/2013/07/05 ... john-wall/

Last week just before the Draft, I caught up Wall in Los Angeles at an adidas event.
Its a Q n A with videos of him in his home town with family also.

WALL: Well, I feel like if we bring the same team back, and then if we bring in a couple of veterans or whatever we do with the Draft pick, I feel like we can be a great team. We do a good job on the defensive end, we just have to know how to do it for 48 minutes. We can do a better job of winning games on the road. We did a good job of protecting our home court, we just have to learn how to win more games on the road.

ME: It feels like that’s something that comes with experience.

WALL: Yeah, it comes with experience, and it comes with just being healthy, trusting each other on the road. And knowing you’re not going to have your fan base behind you, you’ve got the other crowd behind you.

ME: It’s funny how everybody has a floater now, right?

WALL: That’s a key part. You can take hits when you drive but you won’t last long in this league. I think the best floater shooter to me is Tony Parker. He just makes it look so easy.

ME: I just don’t remember the floater being such a prevalent part of the game six, seven years ago.

WALL: I think he kind of invented it. You’ve got to add stuff to your game every day, and he’s one of the best at doing that.

Not that impressive. Still fades on every jumper. At least he was hitting them last season though.
