Regarding the Ernie pick-trading rumors, the question becomes, which team will Ernie be helping via trade this-time? Everybody knows that Ernie is easy when he is desperate.

Russilo isn't really a source though. He does radio with Van Pelt. I wouldn't take his word as Gospel. Ford/Mannix/DX are probably the three people you should be looking at, leading up to the draft, that and Yahoo's Woj.

Have you guys seen the draft express advanced stats reports?

Still waiting on the center list to come out (olynyk was under the power forward crop though he's probably an NBA C), but Olynyk, Porter, and Caldwell Pope are basically the best players of their position statistically which I pretty much agree with.

PG crop list was generally pretty awful and Burke was in the upper mid section of most of the stats there which is concerning.

I'm really looking forward to their center list to see just how Len placed in the overall crop. I expect to see Noel consistently place very highly if not at the top of most lists that aren't offensive in nature.

Bennett doesn't have too many weaknesses on paper situationally aside from his lack of prolific scoring ability one-on-one and in the post. It will be interesting to see if he can translate his efficiency to the next level and become a more dynamic threat creating for himself in the paint or facing up from the midrange in the coming seasons.

This is a bit concerning. It's good that he was an efficient finisher and player in general, but the fact that he didn't stand out as being particularly great as an iso player kind of stinks. The vision of being able to pass the ball to Bennett on the block and allow him to go to work with efficiency doens't seem to be supported by the data and it looks like he'll have to succeed primarily as an off the ball talent at the next level.

Let's not forget that we're talking about a 20 year old. The fact that Bennett doesn't have a good iso game right now doesn't mean that he can't develop one. There's not a player in the draft who doesn't have a skill (sometimes several skills) that they don't need to improve upon.

^ Well, not having a great iso game only really hurts if the guy insists on going iso when he's not good at it. If Bennett is that kind of guy, then it's a huge problem.

Here is the beginning of Bennett's profile on DX which Dark Faze predictably skipped....

Looking at the bigger picture, Bennett's 14.4 possessions per-game and 1.07 points per-possession (PPP) both rank well above average and are eerily similar to the marks posted by Cody Zeller and Kelly Olynyk despite the relative differences in their skill sets and physical profiles. Ranking in the top-four in both transition and half court scoring efficiency, Bennett's athleticism and shooting ability shine through in this study.

Not standing out in usage in any one playtype, Bennett did a little bit of everything for UNLV. He scored an average 0.89 points per-possession in the post, but an impressive 1.39 PPP as a finisher at the rim, the second best mark among his peers and the byproduct of his above average efficiency scoring on put backs and cuts.

In addition to the efficiency his athleticism afforded him around the basket, Bennett also proves to be a potent jump shooter on paper. Ranking fifth in this group with 3.5 jump shot attempts per-game and fourth scoring 1.06 points per-jump shot, Bennett has uncommon scoring ability from the perimeter for player with his physical gifts.

I didn't skip anything that was necessary tontoz. The quote itself that I posted said that he has very few weakness on paper outside of post play and isolation offense and I even lauded him as an impressive finisher and efficient player in general.

I posted the link because most of his supporters always say his great first step and skills will allow him to be a go to guy in the NBA and blow by most PF's guarding him, so obviously an article like this serves as at least some measure of refute to that.

I find concerning because it just adds fuel to the fire of him walking right into the trap that tweeners always seem to walk into: Not being able to iso as effectively as they did in college, being too undersized to defend the position, and then, shockingly, their shooting efficiency goes down. Next thing you know they are coming off the bench.

So like I've said about Bennett, if he isn't one of the best shooters of his position in the NBA then I don't see him reaching the ceiling that so many people seek to draft him based on.

I do understand he has room to grow however as a young man.

But his handle is so great! Don't you remember how he crossed up McAdoo and dunked on him. Not calling him LeBron, but he's LeBron like. He's the total offensive package and can dominate inside & out, plus he's does super explosive leg kicks which allow him to basically fly off the ground and dunk on people at will! People wine about his negatives but he's so young and just a frosh, he can work on his weaknesses. He's got incredible upside unlike the rest of the stiffs in the draft. Either dare to be great or fail because were scared.

That's my question as well. Is he someone with a lot of credibility or a hack just trying to stir up a little local controversy since he's appearing on the home station of the Wizards? I'd like to know that before I jump all over EG based on a statement that might not be totally true.

Come on now. You wouldn't jump all over EG regardless of the source. When was the last time you jumped all over anyone?

He's an apologist. I've never heard one critical word said about EG or the organization for DCZards in all the years he's been here. EG could sh*t a turd on a dinner plate and sign it to a multi-million dollar contract and DCZards would likely complement how polished the turd looks.

You didn't post anything that wasn't necessary to continue your Bennett bashing agenda. Out of everything they said about his offensive skill you naturally focus on the "not prolific" part, predictable as the sunrise.

And saying he isn't prolific doesn't make him a weak iso player.

Dat2u i could have done without that visual.

Seems like an open question whether an undersized, if slightly so,
inside player will have the ability to finish at the same rate when
he's going against grown-ass men. Maybe he will. I don't think we
know that with the kind of certainty that would be nice to have.

I'm pretty sure I want a guy to be a prolific scorer in at least two of three facets that are most important for a PF on the offensive side of the ball if he already has a terrible reputation as a defender tontoz.
