Explosive dunk that didn't count as well--the dude can get up.
Was at the game and he DUNKED (i.E ZERO FEAR -- FACIAL) on Drummond. Unfortunately didn't count because of an off ball foul by Gortat!

He missed a ton of time, he won't show dividends till past the all star break prolly, which is prolly gonna cause some people to hemorrhage with trade deadline scenarios.
That was the biggest issue I saw tonight. I don't think he is untouchable the way Wall or Beal are, but I wouldn't be eager to trade him. Short of acquiring an all-star, I don't see a need to move him.

Needs to get stronger and needs to learn how to work his way past pick and roll plays. He drops way too low under them and is way too slow laterally in recovery. Scouts will exploit that instantly. But his instincts otherwise are good, he's n the right place at the right time a lot. And his shots look good, open, in-rhythm he'll just need to recalibrate a little before they fall. Looks to me like they will fall, mechanics or not.

And he has a nose for defensive rebounds - and with strength, it looks like he could be a solid defensive player. The are lots of drills to help with lateral movement, but I suspect much of this is just getting used to the speed of the NBA.
I think you are right about the shot - my guess is it falls over time. Not sure he ever gets a stroke like Beal/Webster or Ariza though.

Can anyone find a highlight of the dunk? I have asked google and YouTube without success.

I knew he would be more athletic than most of us thought.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

http://stats.nba.com/ is your friend.
I checked, but I could not find it. I thought it would be under the Gortat TO stat for the game. Possibly a glimpse. However, they have no video of that yet.
Also I take back my handles comment earlier. In his video he looks like he can't dribble.

For these very things we have patiently waited
Those eight rebounds, and the slam, though negated,
Convinced us to stay, for at least one more day
Before we continue our Otto da fe
Nice little game, Otto! Keep moving toward this:

It is under the Gortat TOV list. 2nd video. Gortat holds Drummond by the arm which prevents him from going for the block. Would have been called for a moving screen regardless. Good call by the refs.
Sucks. But he'll get a few. Otto's got long arms and decent hands.

Really. He showed more handles then I thought he had.
Better than Beal already.
On a team with very few ball handlers. I have him as the 3rd best ball handler on the team already behind
Wall, Maynor and probably just ahead of Trevor A who is average at best.
Yes, the team has that few ball handles. It is probably their greatest weakness.

Thanks for the link. I wanted to see that again.
But come on. Holds his arm ?
That was a weak ass call. Horrible call. He barely touched Drummonds and he ran away from the play. There was a very small screen but that kind of stuff goes uncalled all the time.
Those refs sucked. And I can say that even in a blow out.

Glad to see Otto starting to step up and - dlts20 you took the words out of my mouth- look like GU Porter.
Being able to work his way into the paint and score there - for a while it seemed like he wouldn't be able to do that at summer league or D league level, much less the NBA.
I've been one of the more alarmist folks on here about his career prospects, but I'm about ready to eat some crow if he keeps this up.

I keep saying he's in a perfect spot as long as Webster and TA stay healthy.

I totally agree

But in basketball, that was an obvious offensive foul.

Yes, that quick, darting move into the paint for a wide open short jumper is a classic Otto move from his GU days. What I really like about Porter is his high bball IQ and the fact that he never makes unnecessary, time-consuming moves when he has the ball. He just goes with the flow of the game, much like he did at GTown.

Re: Otto Porter
Porter looks better each game. He's making the case for more minutes. I liked seeing him finish around the rim in traffic.
I think people are sleeping on Porter's scoring ability. Most people probably know about the mid range game but he's also got a good post game and excellent inside scoring ability. He's also a lot longer than people realize. I could see him filling out in a couple of years and becoming a true combo forward.
He truly is a high floor player. He's going to be alright.

Re: Otto Porter
I didn't like Childress' game overall but when he was in Atlanta he used to move well without the ball in the halfcourt to find openings inside for easy buckets. I see some of that in Porter.
