what a wild trade week. hate the Lakers moving the last of their treasure for Mark Williams. Jimmy/Draymond/C or Kuminga looks like a terrible fit. Charlotte, Miami come out ahead. Orlando stands pat. OKC & Houston push no chips in. Nets/Bulls/Blazers don't do enough. Suns, Nuggets, Grizz miss out. Wiz add two 1's

Don't forget the Kings continuing their transformation into last year's Chicago Bulls lol.

I did not have the hawks blowing it up and tanking with no first. But I like it that picks gone **** it let's just re set who cares.
The pels are just so much more incompetent than the wizards ever were. Look at that AD trade and what did it get them? Nothing.
The rockets and OKC not doing much is good but what are they gonna do
As miserable as the sounds look. **** KD just said **** you lol I ain't leaving lol.
The Lakers are a weird one. Like the Luka thing was magic. But trading all that for Mark Williams when you probably could have had Holmes or JV or someone else for much less.
the kings are right there with them. Like I get saying out boy likes JV let's get him for nothing. Let's get Jake laravia for nothing. I get saying monk is half the price and not that much worse at starting PG than what we had let's more the expensive one. But I don't get saying let's just make the 2020 bulls and do it again with a better role player situation lol.
The bucks hoping that 2 of the most inefficient guys in the league are gonna help them is wild lol
Portland being so quiet is weird. Is grant untradable. ?

That franchise ought to just move to Seattle.
No direction, no perspective.
When Wizards fans feel sorry for you, just damn.

I only feel sorry for Mavs fans everyone else can get in line behind us for the most downtrodden, pitiful fanbase

That's a move they needed to make years ago. They held onto him like a blue chip stock they expected to cash in any day and it never happened. Of course everyone's tradeable once they become expiring (we should have a Jerami Grant BOYD thread ready to go) but he's neither a part of their future nor a significant asset that will bring meaningful return. At this point, he's just another vet on a big contract.

I wonder what's the over/under on how long before a Jimmy Butler and Draymond fistfight. Seems a volatile combo.

So like you can see the logic and talk your self into why the Mavs did what they did even if they did it in a dumb way but **** ad getting hurt might get this man fired.

It feels like the NBA should amend stuff like this. Lakers went into this thinking they were getting Luka and Williams, and now it's just Luka. Yeah, it's Luka but the deadline is done and now the Lakers have to scour the buyout market for a center. It feels like they should be able to make a trade considering it was rescinded two days later.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Completely disagree. The NBA pushed back the trade deadline to give teams ample opportunity to address their needs. If you wait until the hour before the deadline to make a trade, thats the risk you take on. I know in college for submitting papers, as well as the proposal world in my professional life, you NEVER wait until the last minute because things out of your control can happen.
This should be a lesson learned for all teams.
Remember, LAL were the ones who called CHO...and there was not a 3rd team involved.

This. And in this case it probably worked out best for the Lakers not taking on Williams. The move for Luka was for the future, the Williams move was for Today (and to satisfy Lebron). They are going to have lots of cap space in '27-27 to sign another star.
Trading with the Lakers to get their draft assets feels like a waste of time as they can rebuild so much quicker than say a Phoenix Suns team

Nice post. And just to reset this a bit. Franchises that seem to (in this small sample size). Love your feedback...
Outperforming
Celtics - running out this run and not damaging the future
Cavs - On a roll and got better
Rockets - solid direction and not panicking with trades
Lakers - Luca and the cap space post Lebron
OKC - Wow, just wow
Making progress
Nets - doing a rebuild fast with lots of cap space and draft assets.
Jazz - they have so many draft assets, just a matter of time
Solid
Memphis - have their base, have their picks
Miami - can't believe they could unload Butler
Knicks - didn't think Kat would work out
Magic - they have some nice youngsters, let see how they manage the cap
Pistons - now in the playoff hunt and getting better
Spurs - Fox/Wemby and didn't give up their young players or '25 picks
Wizards - Full on in the rebuild and playing the youngster, a little luck and ...
Treading water (or still treading water)
Hawks - ever the proverbial play-in team.
Hornets - trying, that would have been a good trade with the Lakers
Nuggets - stuck
Warriors - a tough one, one last chance to compete and then the crash?
Pacers - made a nice trade for Halliburton but then...
Clippers - still recovering from bad trades, gonna be long and ugly
Bucks - Kind of stuck now with the current contracts
TWolves - stuck in the mud
76ers - building around a C that will never return to health (IMO)
Blazers - key players aren't all that
Kings - Some pretty big contracts there, move up a category if Monk is the answer at PG
Raptors - going no where fast
Breathing water
Bulls - smh
Mavs - going under water in time
Suns - gonna be really ugly this off-season
Pelicans - smh

The Lakers got savaged for hiring JJ as coach, now they are 9-1 their last 10 games and climbing-up the Western conference

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves - Part 8
I posted this in the main thread like
I understand the reasons why you wanna trade him and why you don't wanna super max him. That's reasonable.
I even understand wanting AD.
But for **** sakes why did Nico let the Lakers talk him out of assets lol like the ****
They could have had their 2031 first, 3 seaps, a second, DK, and Armel Traore. Along with AD and Christie and the first they got. Is that still too light for Luka yes but **** the Lakers would have caved.
