That's a good pick getting Bill Walker in the 2rd if he was healthy he probably would have been gone before 18. I just wished McGee hadn't been picked or maybe he had been picked to be traded to a team that maybe wanted late in the 1st round but that wasn't the case.

And if other teams weren't scared about the knee dude would have been picked.

I find it very distressing that a team concerned about maturity problems drafts McGee, and that this same team also beseiged with injuries selects Walker.

If he stays healthy, Walker could be a steal.

Then again he might not make the team if McGuire's better in preseason.

All in all, this draft grades a D. Walker could bump it up to a C if he's a stud athletically at the next level.

Portland got Batum from Houston for Arthur+something. Great trade for the Blazers. That team is a dynasty. We have so many rich companies around here. Can one of their owners buy off cheap Abe?

I'm not sleeping on the return of Etan at all. Other than his injury issues, I've always thought that he was a valuable component of the Wiz.

Their GM is Pritchard I think. He's a great young manager and I got the NBA Package a few years ago to follow Dixon and Blake and sort of became a fan of them, especially after they got Blake back last year and gave him 20 mil.

Agree, considering how soft we are, Etan is going to actually have an important role this year.

The Blazers, the Rockets, the Spurs, and this season the Nets and the Bucks are simply destroying teams with their draft.

Portland and Houston are way ahead of the rest of the league in how they evaluate talent and moreso how they creatively cheat teams in trades.

I meant media outlets mostly, but even the local ones seem to forget he is on our team. Hopefully Eddie has seen the value of Haywood, but Etan is still a nice change of pace. With Blatche on the 2nd line, we won't lost any height either.

Houston selects Leunen. Another good PF/SF prospect on a team full of good PF/SFs.

I'd love to trade the MEM pick to Minnesota for Chalmers. That would wrap up a pretty good draft. We'd go into the season with essentially a complete team of vets:

Arenas/AD
Stevenson/AD
Butler
Jamison/Songaila
Haywood/Etan

And a complete team of young guys:
PG Chalmers
SG Young/Walker
SF DMac/Walker
PF Blatche/Pecherov
C McGee/Pecherov

Spaceman...that's just it. We have'
C- Haywood, Thomas, (Blatche)
PF - Jamison, Blatche, (Songalia)

Then we go out and McGee.......he's not a BRUISER. I don't know if you know my "2008 Draft" background, but I was a HUGE Joey Dorsey fan!! He's what the Wizards needed, IMHO. Just as strong as CCJ is with Hendrix, you can equal that with me and Dorsey!! I LOVE the guy, but felt we didn't NEED him if we were keeping all of our bigs - Haywood, Thomas, Pech, Jamison. Blatche, Songalia, VV, .....too many guys to0 add a big with a one-dimisional game.....(DEFENSE)..which is what is NEEDED on our team.

Now Miami adds Chalmers to the same team with Beasley, Wade, Marion, and Haslem.

Portland selects Mike Taylor. Hey, I was worried about his arrests and what not but the Wizards didn't select a PG after last season. Laughable.

Wizards, I'm afraid, are going to drop out of the playoffs next season because they just don't see how bad their perimeter defense is.
