Has Lebron been treated unfairly by the media?
I hope this isn't going to be locked for being off topic here. I am a die-hard Wizards fan. I hate Lebron James as much as everyone else has. But you have to feel sympathy for him. His elbow has been bothering him (like Kobe's back was bothering him before earlier in the playoffs), and, he just had one bad game, and, he's getting trolled extremely hard by the media. I mean, I really hate him, but, I at least respect him as a player because I know how good he can be and how well he's played in the past. So it's just one performance out of like 100,000 (well maybe not that many but you know what I mean).
I want this question directed at other Wizards fans because I want to know if they feel the same way as I do. I hate him a lot, but, I don't mindlessly hate him. I hate him because for how he torched our franchise those 3 years. I know he's a good player and all... I don't doubt that from what I've seen him do in the past. Does anyone else feel like he's being treated unfairly, and, it's like a bunch of Lebron haters have been hogging the media spotlights just these last few hours, just because he did poorly that one game?
I want to ask other Wizards fans this question, because, as a franchise, our fans have a deep hatred for Lebron and anything related for the Cavs. I would expect other fans though, at least, to have somewhat of a respect for Lebron as a player. I hate him, but, I respect who he is and what he's done for the game. Anyone else feel the same way as I do?

More than anything, I feel very uncomfortable to see how quickly the adulation turns to derision. So it's not so much a matter of sympathy for Lebron as contempt for the fickle about-facers. Even then, I guess I have to admit that I find Lebron a smidge less objectionable under the circumstances.

Re: Has Lebron been treated unfairly by the media?
hah. i think in the grand scheme of things, the media has done more FOR lebron than against him. him being snippy is the definition of biting the hand that feeds him.
and i don't see it as being fickle either. he's been douchey ever since he was a senior in HS. i liked the kid when he was a junior going up against oak hill. then something snapped. he stopped being a real person, and started becoming a robot bent on branding himself. i guess it's taken the last 7 years for the rest of the world to get on my wavelength.
however, unlike the media i actually respect him for being a jerk to them. he HAS had incredible games, and they ARE harping on him. But don't cry about it, lebron. don't ruin this moment. sack up, shock the world, go to the clippers, and give a big middle finger to all the "pundits" out there.
oh man, i could go on forever about how much more i'd respect Lebron if he went on the clippers. it'd be a good basketball move, and a good PR move too. the knicks are dead. d-e-d dead.

Why should I feel the least bit uncomfortable or sympathetic for selfish egomaniacs who literally have the world at their fingertips. They treat the fans, the refs, and the league like pawns and the second they face a little adversity I have to totally ignore the fact they they've been spoiled brats for years? The talent of athletes like Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Tiger Woods, and Lebron James is undeniable, but their complete disrespect for anyone but themselves coupled with their perception that they aren't appropriately respected by the world is nauseating. I know all superstars can’t be gracious like Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken Jr, or Drew Brees, but some all world athletes are so self centered (Lebron) it’s impossible not to enjoy watching them get kicked while their down.

Re: Has Lebron been treated unfairly by the media?
I dislike LeBron soooo much. I have never cheered for him to win a game in my life. It has nothing to do with him as a player, he is a fantastic player. I just hate his personality. He is entitled, preening, egotistic, insecure, ect. Whatever.
But I do feel sympathy for him. The reason he is entitled, egotistic, ect is because he has been billed King James since high school, and has been pandered to since a little kid probably. Hes insecure because he has to justify those things, in his mind, by being a Brand, a billionaire, an "icon".
It was fun to hate on him when everyone loved him, but, like hooplotta, its uncomfortable how everyone in the media immediately turns on him, hates him, says hes not ready, etc, and are just now calling him out on his personality flaws. Pretty much no one has critisized him, not this all pours out?
I actually kinda feel bad for the guy, to be honest. I imagine hes feeling pretty lonely around this time.

Lebron has had it far too easy for far too long. Being mentioned in the same breath as the greatest players ever after having achieved exactly what?
Seems like you have to earn it afterall kiddo.

Re: Has Lebron been treated unfairly by the media?
Yes he's been treated unfairly. His complete @sshatedness is a direct result of the fawning coverage that the media has given LeBron ever since he appeared on the SI cover. They've taught him that he can do no wrong, that he walks on water, that his s**t doesn't stink. Who can fault him for believing them and turning into such an egotistical self-absorbed jerk.
If it wasn't for the media, I'm sure LeBron would have simply turned into your normal everyday NBA player who only wants to have kids in every city and make enough money to feed their family.
F**k the Queen.

Re: Has Lebron been treated unfairly by the media?
I gotta say, last night took away a lot of the sting from this season with the Wizards. It was Tony Romo fumbling the snap in the playoffs all over again. That said, I really do blame Mike Brown for the loss in this series. Their offense is built solely upon Labron creating. When things get tight in the playoffs, the rest of the team simply fades away. This, I think, isn't so much the players as it is they simply have no real system to rely upon. And as bad as we bash Antwan for D, Brown clearly didn't use him well on offense. He basically sat him outside and asked him to shoot threes, and occasionally drive. If Antwan isn't involved in the flow of the game, he disappears.
And worse, I think Labron saw this coming. He clearly lost confidence in his shot, probably due to the elbow injury, and just as clearly didn't have confidence that his team could rescue him. So yeah, I'd say he's being treated unfairly, but gosh - I gotta say I enjoyed the moment.

They are the same ones that were late to the hating EFJ and also Gil.
Probably late getting on the bus for Dray going the other way

If it were anyone but James, I'd find it hyperannoying how everyone switched bandwagons so quickly. People love to tear down what they build up, you know? Since it's James though, ha ha!

By general population, you mean everyone not in Cleveland.
Personally, I think this tipping point happened last year when Cleveland was eliminated and LeQueen chose to show his immaturity by not shaking hands afterwards.
