OT - World Cup discussion and prediction

Post#1 » by WallToWall » Thu Jun 10, 2010 5:56 pm

A few strong teams in the World Cup. I see Spain vs Brazil, with Brazil winning it 3-1.
USA stands a good chance to get past the group, but with England in the group, USA most likely cant win it. I'd like to see Cameroon have a good showing as well.

My only prediction, it's going to be a ridiculously good time! Was in my hometown Munich for the last World Cup and was hoping to make it to South Africa but it didn't happen. 2014 in Brazil is a must though!

The top teams as far as I am concerned are clearly Spain and Argentina. Don't know too much about this years Brazil squad, but the last version struck me as too spoiled of their past successes, not sure they're hungry enough.

I've got the Netherlands as my dark horse team, but Robben will have to get healthy quickly for them to have a legit shot at the title.

Germany, the ultimate tournament team, will surprise but I see their max ceiling as the semis.

Curious about the USA, and also curious to see if England can finally manage to get over the hump.

IBTM, I guess.

I'm not as into it this year as I was the last time around, when my Trinidad & Tobago's "Soca Warriors" were running roughshod through their group - and, by "running roughshod," I mean tying Sweden and generally being happy to be there.

But, I'm still excited for USA vs. ENG. That should be a fun one.

I will be there live in person for a few games, including USA-England. :D

I got Spain beating Netherlands in the Final.

I've supported England and the Netherlands for as long as I can remember and ever since the 94 world cup I've also had a soft spot for USA.

I fully expect to be watching TV for about a month in a row now and it should be an absolute blast.
