Post your Full First Round Mock for posterity

Post#1 » by BruceO » Fri Jun 18, 2010 2:32 am

Here's my full mock plus notes afterwords on what picks might be dealt for the first round. Feel free to add yours on this thread so we can see how it went a week from now.

1. john wall ( wizards)
2. Derrick Favors ( Philly)
3. Evan Turner ( NJ)
4. Wes Johnson (wolves)
5. Demarcus Cousins (Sacramento to detroit)
6. Xavier Henry (warriors)
7. Greg Monroe (Detroit to sacramento)
8. Al-Farouq Aminu (clippers)
9. Cole Aldrich (jazz)
10. Avery Bradley (pacers)
11. Ed Davis (hornets)
12. Patrick Patterson(Grizzlies)
13. Luke Babbit (Raptors)
14. Ekpe Udoh(rockets)
15. Larry Sanders(bucks)
16. Paul George (wolves)
17. Damion James(bulls)
18. Dominique Jones (heat)
19. Solomon Alabi (Celtics)
20. Gordon Hayward(Spurs)
21. Daniel Orton ( thunder)
22. Kevin Seraphin (blazers)
23. Hassan Whiteside (wolves)
24. Elliot Williams(hawks)
25. Eric Bledsoe (grizzlies)
26. Gani Lawal(thunder)
27. Craig Brackins (nets)
28. Mikhael Torrence (grizzlies)
29. Quincy Poindexter(Magic)
30. James Anderson(wizards)

In the top ten I think where Cousins goes between Minnesota and Sacramento affects how the players fall in all the way to the 12 position. If he goes to Wolves I see
5. greg Monroe (sacramento)
6. Wes Johnson (golden State)
7. Cole Aldrich (detroit)
8. Al Farouk (clippers)
9. Ed davis (jazz)
10. Avery bradley (pacers)
11. Xavier henry (hornets)

I think the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, 27th and 28th pick are most likely to involve movement.

For the Wizards outside of our draft slots i like the players in the 5th, 9th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 29th slot.

Raps will not take Luke Babbit imo. They take Udoh and Paul george before babbit.

A couple of options to put this stuff

Actually I HAVE read both those threads. Option one on mock drafts basically involves picking five drafts at a time and the board reaching consensus. Option two is more about discussing possible players and moves. I don't think you or I have seen full mocks on any of these topics and won't be seeing any full mocks where people try and predict according to their opinion where players would go. Thank you for the suggestion but this thread is for anyone who wants to post their full mocks ( not five players at a time) and it's not about consensus. It's about how many did you get right and possibly this exercise will tell us who has a nose for these things.

So again thank you but I was fully aware of those threads and what I was doing in order to start a new one. I don't want the mocks mixed in with the other discussion and I don't want to turn those other discussion into something else.

I respect that. Please post your first round mock to see where these players fall and after the draft it might be cool to see who fell into places you expected. I personally picked Luke Babbit in that position because of the fiasco with Turkoglu. I thought they'd need a small forward to replace him. Drafts have luke Babbit going higher than Paul George. I believe Paul George with his skinny frame sees himself as a shooting guard. This is a place already occupied by Demar derozen unless he will now play SF now that they are having issues with Turk. Also I see Udoh as a Power Forward, a place already occupied by Bargnagni.
In the end they can pick whoever or even sell it. I just wanted to take my best educated guesses and make a full mock.
