RIP Mel Turpin

Post#1 » by keynote » Fri Jul 9, 2010 12:31 am

"Dinner Bell" wasn't my favorite Bullet. He was one of a series of overweight bigs that came through the roster, only to eat their way off. I can't even find a pic of him in a Bullets' uni.

But I was still saddened to hear about his recent suicide.

Rest in peace, Mel.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

It's not just the great and good Bullets/Wizards, but all of them, the Steve Colters and LaBradford Smiths, that come to the team, stay for a moment or a long while, and maybe contribute. Flawed or not, they're all part of the family to me. It's sad to see he had such struggles, and I'm sorry for his family.

I feel the same way, Monte. Very sad news.
