I'm off to Chicago for work and will be out-of-pocket.

Actually, don't care if this thread stays or goes, but only wanted to get it started before I leave. If we hate this idea, plz PM Miller to remove.

Or, post your own baseless rumor here.

I get the dig at Vescey's journalism, but in all seriousness rumors get started right here, occasionally. There are definitely national media types who blog. I have cyber-talked with a couple, not counting a certain freelance contributor to SI among others who used to post here quite often.

We had a voice in the lockerroom who knew up close and personal.

To me, things have come full circle with the Wizards broadcasters following blogs during the games now. Listening to posters from this site call in to the radio broadcasts, and following Mike Prada on Bulletsforever, and such; what we say here does amount to inside info.

As far as I'm concerned, we know as much about the Wizards as anyone not in the lockerroom on a daily basis.

So, Vescey could learn something here. So could Wilbon. Geez.

(verbal8, you could be Vescey for all we know. I believe some media and some insiders just have real tight aliases).

That is too close to being based in fact for this thread :)
Monuments would make a certain amount of sense. I think the Nationals and Capitals nicknames work pretty well and it would be a similar nickname. I wonder if the Mystics get their name changed first. They might be a lower risk test case for how to change the name. I doubt there would be much of any outcry to change the name back to the Wizards, but a decent number of fans would be annoyed if it was changed to a name other than Bullets.
