I don't want to buy into the Cartier Martin hype. I know it's just summer league and he's playing against guys who will most likely not be on an NBA roster....

How many fouls did Wall draw in that 1st quarter? 8-9?

A couple of early thoughts-

1) Beaubois was by far the fastest guy on the court when he played in the playoffs, and he had no prayer at staying with John Wall.

2) Javale looks like a guy used to playing no-contact hockey and is suddenly put in a full-contact checking NHL-style game. Someone needs to teach him how to use his body and play contact basketball instead of just as a means of propulsion to jump over everyone. But at least he's trying...

That's some lineup we have out there now.

The previously celebrated Yue play was sweet, yes.

John Wall is going to be a beast in 2K11. He's soooo fast.

Love these NBA stats central tunes during timeouts.

Cartier Martin is the one converting Wall's passes to assists.

Here's Dat's twitter feed again, he's got sideline reporting going on.

:wizard: + :reporter: = Win!

Man, Wall is frakin' on dyno-mite, we were really blessed by the basketball gods there.

As to Martin, it's not a matter of hype or summer league as he was on the squad at the end of the season for much of that 5-5 closeout. He's a functional system fit as a shooter, is what he is. He sometimes makes bad decisio0ns, but he's more disciplined and better off the ball than Thornton, even if a lot less dynamic. I say Ink him up. Nothing to lose there as he's available on a one year deal.

Hamady is an amazing weapon, with the caveat that the wounds will be inflicted against the Wizards. I'm thinking Morgan and Pettaway are well out as options too. Morgan seems overwhelmed by the speed of the game at this point and I don't think he can shoot. I don't have much of a feel for Hudson as yet.

Martin's got to make the team - We have a clear opening for a wing who can knock down 3's in quantity. Yue - what a sweet passer but... he's always a step slow on defense and going for loose balls. Dom Jones is a legit keeper for the Mavs.

Cartier deserves a contract if for no other reason than his game-winner against Indy in the finale last year got us the lotto spot that got the Wall pick. He saved the franchise.

My first SL game tonight... and jeez, Wall and McGee look freakin' exciting. I am not used to this feeling from Wizards basketball.

Martin needs to be signed ASAP. He is a great 10-12th guy.

Even cold as he is right now, I'd take Martin on the cheap than any remaining FAs.

McGee is an athletic freak for 7-1.

Is there a score board link. I can't find one.
