Break up the Wizards summer league dynasty. Led by the big three of Wall, Martin and McGee, YOUR Washington Wizards take on the New Orleans Hornets.

The Wizards stuck out a win last night versus the Dallas Mavs despite a poor shooting night from the Great Wall.

Join your friends on the Wizards board and post your thoughts, opinions, and observations here.

Is it time yet to point out that the Wizards' defense has been pretty good in summer league? We've held opponents to an average of just 75 points per game. Opposing teams have an eFG% of just 43%.

It's hard to say how that compares to the competition since offense is generally poorer in summer league. A cursory glance through the scoreboard shows that most teams score in the 80's.

John Wall is averaging 13.1 free throw attempts per 36 minutes so far in summer league. He is shooting 91% from the line. So despite a miserable 34.8 eFG%, his TS% is a respectable (for summer league) 51.7%

This is totally irrelovant in my opinion. McGee, Wall, and Martin are all NBA players. McGee and Martin have spent part of two seasons in the NBA guarding very good players. I expect them to keep in check the non-NBA players they are going against if for no other reason than they are just more taleneted. NBA players like Reggie Williams and Eric Bledsoe have actually performed very well.

NOH is winless, we should thrash them.

this version might be the best team in Summer league history. We are the Miami heat of Summer League. I think these wins should count in the regular seasons standings

I laughed. And we aren't even playing with all of our rookies. Imagine how good we'd be with Seraphin playing.

no D, a couple more perimeter players have fared well against the Wiz SL squad. Dominique Jones and Jeremy Lin pretty much had their way. (But not Roderick Beaubois.)

I think the SL team defense has at times been stifling. McGee is dominating defensively at this level of competition. Guys like Booker and Hudson are ballhawking. Martin and Morgan have played with great intensity. In limited minutes, I've liked what I've seen from Palmer and Pettway (but he's fouling too much) defensively. I think this team is good defensively.

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but IIRC the Wizards summer league squad with Steve Blake, Jarvis Hayes, and Jared Jeffries went undefeated. I remember them kicking but in SL.

They also went on to have a Winning season. Playing Winning Basketball, be it in Summer League or not, is always a good thing.

Was La Ron on that team?

Chat during the game: http://www.chatzy.com/894819017953

Please note there seems to be a limit of how many people can chat (10-13). If someone has another chat room to use that will allow more people to participate, I'm all for that.

McGee with the hardwood equivalent of 30 clown's out of the Volkswagen. Don't know what to say about that.

McGee is just toying with them now.

I like Pondexter's J. He's looking good.

That was ugly. Defenders are really playing Wall for the jumper and he's just launching it. Like to see him make the extra pass a bit more. Seems like he wants to prove he can shoot but they don't need him to take 25 shots to win. Defensive rebounding is a disgrace by every post player we have. Has been the first 4 games just hasn't hurt us yet.
