Where: Cox Pavilion - Las Vegas, NV
Television: Comcast SportsNet, NBA TV (out of the DC market)
Radio: None

Following a quick turnaround, your Wizards summer league squad will look to achieve an undefeated summer session in a match up with the New York Knicks. Yeah it was ugly at at times, but the good guys - down by 13 points in the second, rallied to beat the New Orleans Hornets with a last second DAGGER!

The Knicks are coming off of a 12-point win versus the Pistons, relying on 19 points from swingman Bill Walker.

-- Can the Wizards sweep the summer league/
-- Will Javale McGee demonstrate his killer crossover, then go behind his back for to end a coast-to-coast sojourn for two?
-- Can John Wall and Cartier Martin find their stroke?

Join your friends on the Wizards board and post your thoughts, opinions, and observations here.

Go Wiz

i'd like to see if Booker can be more assertive tonight. He start the game against New Orleans pretty aggressive. I'd also like N'Diaye to get more minutes, not many more jus about 6 more mins. I dont see the point in playing Pettway or Edwards who have pretty much no chance in making the team, and we already know what to expect from Javale.

Did Javale's killer crossover give anyone else the idea that he could play some PF?

Javale resembles Pau Gasol in size and handle. Comparing Javale at 22 years old to what Pau was at 22 gives me hope McGee can become a dominating player in his own right. Pau was much more refined from having professional experience prior to the NBA. He's a far better passer. McGee, while rawer is a far better shotblocker. Javale is starting to grow into his frame. He is showing a hook shot now. He's starting to stay in the paint, rebound, and slam on putbacks. I think Javale's weak defense in the pivot could be masked if, like Pau, he got to play PF with a dominating defensive C.

(Haywood with Javale is what I would have liked--but Andray's coming along nicely at PF).

I have a feeling we won't see as much from McGee or Wall as we have in the past few games.

5-0! Hey fishercob, is there any meaning to your user name? I just saw inception and two of the main characters are fisher and cobb. And that movie was insane.

Ahh yeah. I have been posting about that for a while as I thought you had been also. This goes back to last year when we actually had a defensive center for him to play with in Haywood. And his mother commenting about McGee getting some minutes with Haywood.

I always thought it would be easier for him to develop and get productive court time if he was playing at PF. And since we don't have a starting quality SF, we are kind of back to square one with the AJ and CB debate. If we only had a center similar to the quality of Haywood, it would be interesting to see some minutes of C, McGee, Dray, Gil, Wall

Should be interesting to see what they do with these pieces this year. Just hope we finally address the defensive center issue. Can't wait to see what Seraphin gives us.

Martin and Hudson are going to produce so much better than our crappy backup guards last season.

Yup, I hope they sign both Martin and Hudson. Martin might get actual minutes where as Hudson probably won't, but he'll be a heck of a lot better than Boykins.

Booker's offense starting to come along. I like how well he uses his off-hand. Defense and rebounding still need a ton of work.

Turned the game on with 5 min left, expecting the Wiz to be down 20 w/o Wall & McGee, very pleasantly surprised they're ahead, hope they hold on to the lead.

Looks like a good game from Martin & Hudson, I agree they should definitely be on the squad come November. Hudson will be the de facto 3rd PG, agree Martin should have a better chance to see minutes in the regular season.

I'm hoping Hamady gets LOTS of minutes - in the D-league. Has some long-term potential, but don't expect anything this year. In fact, look for one more vet signing to bolster the front court, since we don't know what to expect from Seraphin just yet. My guess: Malik Allen for the vet min.

Looked like Palmer must have played well, but he's been pretty rough the past few minutes. Might get a camp invite, but can't see him making the squad.

And now the lead is down to 1 - don't blow this one, guys!

That was an ugly 45 seconds; on to overtime.
