bruddahmanmatt wrote:Laker fan here, and I just wanna say that you guys have A LOT to be happy about. I know it's only the first game of the preseason but you folks have a solid roster and I wouldn't be surprised if you guys were this year's sleeper playoff team. Wall, Gil and Hinrich are one of the most underrated backcourts in the league and while you guys are a bit undersized playing Kirk at the 3 for the time being, you'll only get stronger and deeper if J-Ho can contribute when he gets back and Hinrich comes off the bench. Blatche can be a bit of a misfit at times but he's definitely got a few moves and McGee despite being unpolished has the ROY favorite to set him up. Add to that the fact that you guys also got Yi for dirt cheap and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see you guys sneak in for the 7th or 8th seed in the East. I'm starting to think that Gilbert's antics which prompted management to finally pull the trigger and move Jamison, Caron and Haywood was the best thing to ever happen to your franchise in recent years. Looking forward to seeing you guys in the regular season.

Thanks, bruddahmanmatt. Hope you're right.

Gil's antics ended up saving this team from the luxury tax and shaking up everything for the better for everyone but him and Crittenton, IMO.
Bye bye Beal.

Terrible combination with Hudson, Young, Martin, Blatche and Armstrong.

Bring Yi back, Flip. Bring McGee back. Sit Andray. Also, it's not Nick's night.
Bye bye Beal.

Hilton Amrstrong is an overwhelming physical presence. Or, maybe better make that 'overwhelmed'.

I'm not thinking McGee has much to worry about as far as minutes.

You know, it is really nice being the young athletic squad and not the over the hill veteran crap we've had to deal with.

These are guys who are hungry and will fight on offense and defense. They aren't complacent lazy players who will cry if they don't get 38 minutes a night.

With Armstrong in there the Wizards are getting killed on the boards.

Rebounds were Wiz 33, Mavs 34. Now, they're 34-42 and the Mavs have closed to 5. I'm calling an Armstrong watch this season. That's Flip's guy. See how that works out over time.
Bye bye Beal.

Armstrong is a really really sucky rebounder and defender.

Why throw the game with Hudson at PG? This sucks.

They play so well and the Wizards basically take out Wall, Arenas, and Hinrich and lose the damn game.
Bye bye Beal.

i thought it was a nice effort tonight. I don't care about the result though Lester Hudson not helping himself as a point guard. More of a combo. Yi looked good. Wall is Wall. Armstrong kind of just stands there. Rebounding of course, will be a problem so they need guards to help out. Would like to see Seraphin and Booker to help out spindly 7-footers. Thornton was terrible tonight and Nick was Nick. When he's good he's very good and when he's bad he's WNBA-like.

Hudson DOES NOT belong at PG.

Nick needs to kick rocks and get out of town. He's done.

Who cares? Who do you want, Wall to play 45 minutes? Hudson will never play if he makes it. You don't need to be playing Hinrich or Arenas this late in a preseason game.

I would advocate bringing Tyrone Nesby back if that meant that he'd take Nick Young's roster spot.

Flip putting Hudson in a no-win situation as a PG on a night where Young is off and forcing things and with Andray tired, and with Armstrong at C.

Flip needed to win this game convincingly and NOT take hope away with a crappy assed effort in the fourth.

Lester hits a big three! Good for him.
Bye bye Beal.

What the hell are you talking about? Flip needed to win this game convincingly? I have no idea what you're smoking, hoping to win a nothing preseason game.
