It's been a freaking long off season.

Representing the most powerful city in the world, YOUR Washington Wizards travel to the Big D for a match-up with old friends Brendan Haywood, Caron "Tuff Juice" Butler, and the Dallas Mavs. The game marks the first step in a hopefully long and productive career for #1 draft pick, PG John Wall.

With SG Gilbert Arenas and PF Andray Blatche coming off injuries, we could probably expect to see lots of off-season acqusitions G Kirk Hinrich and PF Yi Jilian. Rookies PF Kevin Seraphin and F Trevor Booker will also launch their careers on Tuesday night as well.

Thanks Pine. With two of our starters out, I picked Dallas for an easy W. Can't wait to see the new guys.

I know that it's just pre-season, but it was so nice to see a game thread up there. The offseason was just way too long. NFL season is in full swing, MLB playoffs are starting, and the NBA season (unofficially) is starting.

This might be my favorite part of the year. As for the first pre-season game.... eh.... it's gonna be nice to see all of the young guys out there in the actual game jerseys for once this year. It'll seem more 'official'

It's always fun to watch them play but it is the first pre-season game with lots of pieces to evaluate so I really don't care who prevails.

It would expect things to look pretty disorganized with all our new players.

I would be surprised if Gil plays much. Same with Dray.

What I most want to see is Seraphin, Armstrong, AT, Yi and the Hammy. Those are the ones I have the most questions about.

As always, I will be looking to see anything new from McGee and Nick.

They get seven pre-seasons games so there is little reason to play of lot of Gil and Dray until they get to around game three.

The really great thing about this season is virtually everything is different. Everybody but Blatche is a bit of an unknown.

I would say we know what to expect from Nick Young, but he's bigger now and will play some SF--something he hasn't done in the past (and I'm not sure why not). Al Thornton's smaller and quicker. Will either of those guys emerge at SF or does Josh Howard regain form after injury and take the job? All three guys are playing for contract, and that could bode for a bit of stat padding. Will they even play much is another question. Flip's going to play Hinrich a ton is my prediction, even if Captain Kirk is featured in the three guard lineup.

The most interesting thing for me to see over preseason are who starts and who gets minutes. Yi is a big question mark for me. Like hands, I want to see Seraphin and the Hamady N'Diaye. I am biased against Armstrong and Morrison. But I bet those last two are guys Flip likes.

This could be a bit of a crazy night when I really start to think about it. We could see Wood matched up alot with McGee and even some with Dray. We could see Gil matched up alot with Caron & Deshawn. Those would be some fun matchups to see.

IDK what it is but seeing the Wall highlights the last 3 or 4 days are getting me more confident about the season. Not so much about the moves he's been doing but just the way he's pushing the rock. Im going to love to see us run, get some transition stuff, and just be a much more exciting team.

IDK if I can say this on here so please delte if not but you guys should come to the Wizards blog for in game talk. Shoot, they will even say your name on the radio and you can talk to Dave Johnson & Glen Consor. You can even talk to Buckhantz some during camp
