.What: Washington Wizards vs Milwaukee Bucks Preseason Basketball
Where: Verizon Center - Washington, DC
When: 7:00 p.m. EDT, 10/14/10
Television: Comcast SportsNet, NBA TV
Radio:
106.7 The Fan---------------------------------------
Coming off of a convincing preseason win versus Southeast Conference rival Atlanta, YOUR Washington Wizards take to the Verizon Center court for their final preseason home game. In town to provide the opposition are the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks are 2-1 in preseason with wins over Chicago and Charlotte, their only loss coming at the hands of the Detroit Pistons.
Milwaukee is led by their young G Brandon Jennings. C Andrew Bogut has been nursing his surgically-repaired right hand during the preseason. Forwards Drew Gooden and Ersan Ilyasova have been playing well during the preseason.
The Wizards come off of a win versus the Hawks in which G Gilbert Arenas claimed a "knee injury". G/F Nick Young, moved into the starting lineup, shot the ball well, but came up with zero rebounds and only 1 assist in almost 31 minutes of play. F/C Yi Jianlan has been playing well in preseason. I assume the reserve C Hilton Armstrong will be eligible to play coming off of a pillow-related injury. F Al Thornton didn't play versus ATL (knee). Unclear if he'll play on Thursday night.
If you're going to the game, don't forget to check in with your mobile phones with live reports (and pics). And let's all keep Uncle Ted honest. We need in-person reports on whether there are more urinal cakes in the bathrooms, more napkins at the concessions, and if the Wizards dance teams new costumes are any better than last year.
Go Wiz!

So Bogut is not playing? Too bad. I want McGee to face a couple of legit NBA centers this preseason.

Nonstop cheering and/or jeering.

I thought Craigslist was phasing out that sort of activity.

Apparently not.
I got the "single" for way below face value too

Careful, that's what Dray thought a few summers ago by Thomas Circle...

I hope the bit of media/fan bashing of Gil over the fake injury thing coupled with the team success last night doesnt make him play like a role player again. I hope he keeps getting more aggressive by the game. Again, I dont want him to chuck or be selfish but I want him aggressive out there. He'll pass anyways

This should be our best "test" to-date in pre-season, neither team will be on a b2b and we our at home. Bogut won't be playing, but lyasova is beast.

Yeah it seems the younger teams are playing better in the pre-season, so the Bucks should be a good match-up. I also think the match-up with Jennings should be a good challenge for Wall.

I figuratively spewed coffee at my PC. Go Zards! It's probably the 2 fastest guards with the ball in the NBA, so it should be fun. Former Buck Zaza Paculia got too many easy buckets against the Wiz bigs last night. Ilyosova has the same kind of moves Paculia does and is a much better outside shooter (though a bit shorter). I think he's the biggest test Wash's bigs will have.

Ho hum. Bring on the playoffs already.
A 3-1 preseason start projects to roughly (Nate, please tell me if I'm getting my math wrong) 87-1 overall, no?
All these uncompetitive NBA teams. Bring on the 1972 Russians and their refs for a real challenge.

Exactly. Was just thinking of what our record is since Wall was added. Hmmmmmmm.

Looking forward to a Jennings vs Wall match up, too bad no Bogut. Good thing is, this game will be televised on NBA TV!

Which JaVale will show up.
The Frog

Bubba JaVale

Wolverine McGee

Horny McGee

But seriously, he looks like he added a lot of muscle this year. Regardless of who well he uses it, it going to some players look at him differently. Now he have to figure out the best way to use it as leverage.

It would be nice to see a lineup of Wall, Arenas, Yi, Blatche and McGee tonight. Allow Hinrich to lead the bench with Hudson, Young, Thorton or Armstrong. Please Saunders, show us this lineup!!

Just because we have a void at the 3 doesn't mean Yi should play there. We need him closer to the basket, IMHO.

Agreed. With our lack of depth up front, we don't have the luxury of giving Yi minutes at SF. Whatever advantage (if any) we get by playing Yi there instead of Thornton/Young/Booker will be offset by the disadvantages of playing Armstrong or Seraphin at PF/C more.
I want to see Nick Young at SF again. Let's see what he can do alongside Arenas and Wall.
