Orlando's scoring differential through the preseason has been, well, let's just say "heads on sticks". OK, +25, same difference. It's also their first game in a new Arena.

Also....

Flip also expressed some concern over Arenas's strained groin. "We don't know. We still don't know what Gil's situation is," Saunders said.

If this one gets away from the boys, I would suggest maintaining a certain equilibrium.

Edit --> OK, wait, maybe good news...

Saunders said Gilbert Arenas (mild right groin strain) practiced on Thursday, but Kirk Hinrich was forced to sit out of contact stuff after developing a charlie horse.

Stickied.

Wiz win big. 126-72. Arenas with 57 points. Dwight goes 0-15 against the stout defense of JaVale McGee.

That prediction, only viewed from the other side of the mirror...

Wiz lose 72-126. Gil's +/- is a -57. Dwight goes 15-15 against mainly Yi, due to Javale fouling out in less than 20 minutes.

Better to predict epic failure and calamity to start the year. I've been wrong more lately--that's my best reverse mojo offering. Despite my prediction and everything in the world saying beatdown loss, I'm hoping for the highly improbable, a Wiz win.

Orlando smashed everyone in Pre-season, so this would be a good game to throw Seraphin at Dwight.

HA! Yes, that will be awesome for his development. First NBA game, throw him out there against the most physically dominant center in basketball. Hey, if the kid craps his pants he just might get some on Dwight.

This thread is bad mojo. Like it or not, Ji essentially "won" the draft lottery thread. Our tradition is for winners to start the next game thread so Ji is within his rights to start this one.

LOL I was thinking the same thing.

Throw your out-of-shape rookie that can barely speak english against DH...that's a great idea. I think closgoo meant to use the green font.

Green font is evil. Quality sarcasm should never be ruined with such telegraphing.

:-? I'd rather not risk it. I don't think Ji helped us win as much as there was enough positive vibes going around (Teddy, Ms. Pollin & most of this board) to offset a Ji-nx.

Everybody knows Ted bought that #1 pick. Ji doesn't get credit for that.

The Ji-nx was offset somewhat by the draft lottery. Let's not bring it back.

To me, this matchup is about Gil & Dray. That will decide if we win this game. Dray has to be a force inside & abuse Lewis while Gil has to be a monster. It sucks because you can tell Gil was starting to get more & more aggressive & confident and now this may set him back. I think we should let him guard Q on D so he doesnt have to worry too much but on Offense if he’s right & aggressive then he should kill VC, Q, or even Nelson on rare occasions.

He has to dominate them. Those guys are too big to stay with him and Nelson is too small. Same thing if they have Reddick on him. Maybe Piertrus has a chance but Gil should still go off. He can keep us in this game if he’s right and has that killer mindset. The rest of the team will then feed off that. In some ways Im happy about Howard not being ready at the start because I think the main thing we have to do is get Gil being aggressive & get Dray feeling good. Howard has the type of game where he can slip right into the fold without a problem but those other 2 need to get going and Howard being out forces Gil to go harder

I have already claimed stake to the home opener. I want to start a thread we can actually win. We will be 0-2 when i start the 76ers home opener thread
