A season home opener. The Game Changer in the house with his posse. Uncle Ted in his new suit, looking GQ. Irene Pollin, in her lucky yellow jacket (much respect to the Pollins). New dance team outfits. And a one point OT win. All is well with the world.

You know what to do, on this November 2nd, it's time for you to VOTE.

Among the nominees:
Image
G John Wall
29 points (9-16 fg, 0-1 3pt), 2 boards, 13 dimes, 9 steals, 8 turns, 1 block in 45 minutes

Image
G Nick Young
20 points (7-11 fg, 3-5 3pt, 3-3ft), 2 boards, 1 steal, 1 turn in 24 minutes

Image
F Andray Blatche
23 points (5-17 fg, 13-14 ft), 8 boards, 1 dime, 1 steal, 6 turns in 43 minutes

Image
F Al Thornton
12 points (5-12 fg, 0-1 3pt, 2-2 ft), 6 boards, 1 dime, 3 steals, 1 turn in 40 minuts

Image
G/F Cartier Martin
6 points (2-3 fg, 2-2 3pt), 1 board in 9 minutes

Image
Coach Flip Saunders (sorry, no action photo)

Or, name your own Player of the Game.

Go Wiz!

Nick Young. We would've gotten creamed had he not saved the day beginning of the game. Kirk picking up 2 quickies was the best thing that could've happened.

Thorton

and happy to see Blatche making fts and Martin again showing why he was a great addition.

Shouldn't this POTG should be under consideration like the game thread?

Blatche picking up a quickie was the worst thing to happen for his contract.

My vote is for Wall, but Martin gets a close runner-up.

Obviously John Wall, but Thorton and Young played well too. I'm really digging Thorton though, tough defense, crashing the boards, hitting shots, taking (for the most part) smart shots. I'm wondering how he'll do once Josh Howard comes back and he has to go to the bench. I like Thorton in the starting role because he provides something the rest of the starters don't - toughness. It'll be interesting to see how he does in a bench role.

Our guy Dougie got the ESPN Daily Dime "Tuesday's Best" mark. First of many, I'm sure.

Wall has definitely far and away exceeded expectations for me and those expectations were pretty darn high too. While he was a 90-95% consensus pick, it's funny to think about the talk of the 'hype machine' and 'overrated' labels now. Statistical analysis. Yeah. Sure, he'll have some inefficient games going forward, but they guy's talent is just a transcendental shock wave of obviousness that smacks the wax from your ears; he's a barrage of vorpal ebullience. Tied the franchise record for steals in his third game? It's simply unheard of. Even his freakin' pullup is smooth.

When you throw in the competitiveness and early signs of a clutch factor, he could easily become one of the best to ever play the game. As far as early impressions, I don't think Rose can compare and we're probably talking neck n' neck with Durant (and no way am I taking Blake Griffin because he fits better with Gil. No).

"Irene Pollin's yellow jacket day" should become a national holiday.

I'm glad someone else has said it. Every time i find myself peering down the avenue of Wall>Rose, or him being the biggest franchise-changing talent since Durant, i have to pinch myself, reel myself back in and tell myself to take off the rose (wall?) coloured glasses.

Then he has games where he registers the highest assist average for a rookie in three games ever, ties the franchise theft's record.....

Wall youre making it hard not to get over-excited.

As a Bulls fan, I was looking forward to seeing how Rose develops this season. However as I was checking out the box score for your game last night to see how old Bull Nocioni got on for Sixers, I was drawn to John Wall's stats, they were pretty impressive. 9 steals, thats some serious pickpocket action. Has he developed those skills from Fagin from Oliver Twist? Your team is seriously lucky to have a talent like that this season. I am looking forward to the next regular season meeting of our two clubs, and these two players duelling it out. I'm not interested in commenting about comparisons between the two players, as I dont get to see many games living in England, so I mainly get to see highlights and box scores, dont have an informed enough opinion. The 8 turnovers did seem quite high though. But it is his rookie season after all, and with the rest of his stats, I wouldnt be worried thats for sure.

Wall is the first player in NBA history to have at least 29 points, 13 assists and nine steals in a single game.

More statistical insanity here:

almost voted for Martin due to the buzzer beaters in 2 different
quarters

but Wall is just too good

honorable mention for N1 who got us back into the
game when we were horrible in the first Q, and AB for hitting
clutch FTs all night.

1. Johnny Ballgame
2. Cart Mart FTW (or FTOT anyway)
3. Blatche deciding to roll to the hole for 13 of 14 FTs.

Wall is Player of the game, but without AT's hustle and willingness to mix it up down low i don't think we would have won even with wall's performance. as Wall hinted to in the post game interview.

Wall obviously...

But, I thought Nicky the chucker was outstanding on both ends in the first half and was really responsible for getting us back in the game. He even rebounded aggressively. Such a tease, such a tease.
