What are the chances of a Grevis Vasques sighting?

If we play well, we have a chance, but Memphis is the type of team that has always given us fits.

I hope Wall plays, but only if his body's ready.

This is the closest our team has looked to the real Wiz team all year. Should have Wall & Gil starting with Yi also back on the bench. Then you can start to judge us

Nov 14 PG Greivis Vasquez, who has barely played early in this season, had himself a nice little game against the Celtics. He hit a floater in the lane that gave the Griz an 88-87 lead midway through the fourth quarter and finished hitting all three of his field-goal attempts (seven points) while collecting two assists and two rebounds in 12 minutes. Griz coach Lionel Hollins said he had been pondering playing Vasquez. "Greivis, for not having played any significant minutes, did an outstanding job," Hollins said. "He brought a lot of energy and emotion to the game. He's ready to play."

i think this is a winnable game without Wall. We've been talking about Gil shaking off rust and this is a perfect game to shake off rust. A slumping Mayo is talented enough to provide resistance but not so tenacious a defender that would crush his confidence.

randolph/gasol is a formidable frontcourt but i have a feeling that we can run those two off the court with Blatche/McGee.

Gasol was one of those guys that totally destroyed McGee last year
so this may be an interesting benchmark for JM.

McGee seems to have improved some, so this will be a good test on whether there is true progress.

Make a play for Gasol, it would be a "Game Changer" for us.

Should be a good game. I think Gil may play really well because he plays a ton with guys like Mayo & Sam Young in the offseason when he's lighting it up. The Grizz are also huge inside & can board but neither of those guys are good defenders so I think we should attack alot and stay aggressive

For whatever reason, I think I'd rather have Marc Gasol with Javale than have Gasol with Blatche.

Seems to me Marc is a great passer, very stout in holding position, and a true C. McGee can be a weakside shotblocker and an energy guy. I'd just as soon see Javale get killed defensively at PF than on the blocks at C.

What I believe is Javale's a slightly better rebounder than Blatche, a much better shotblocker, and a guy who will run the court. Gasol's a smart, tough guy. I don't think he's althletic enough with Blatche, however, to win most nights.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

McGee couldn't stretch the floor to create space for Gasol. If you put Gasol alongside Blatche, it would be damn near impossible for the defense to double team Gasol.

No way Heisley lets Gasol get away. I dunno if anyone else heard the radio interview he did during the whole Xavier Henry mess (it's on the web, I'm sure), but he made it clear that Marc was a huge trophy from the Pau trade and he had every intention of keeping him long term. I think with the Gay and Conley signings, right or wrong Heisley belies in what he has there and is going to keep it together.

Any word on Wall yet? Grizz on 4 game slide, I like our chances at home if healthy.

I would say you have a chance to really judge us once we get to the point that we feel comfortable putting Booker and Seraphin and even Hamady in the game more. Until they are added to Dray, McGee and Armstrong, we are only likely to beat teams that have weaker front courts.

Adding Yi doesn't seem to help us there that much. I see him as mostly added depth if you want a perimeter tall player. He doesn't set picks so I really don't see him as viable right now. He is only eating up minutes that could go to roll players who do and that need more court time.

Let Yi rest up him knee. At the end of the bench for now.

Wall & Yi are listed as questionable for tonight.
